First time going out since taking the Red Pill a week ago, and moving into a new city (LA). LA is apparently "plastic", so I figured an upscale bourgeois club would be best. Main goal: explore the boundaries of acceptable behavior and apply various aspects of basic red pill frameworks such as frame, accept & amplify, etc. Mostly I ended up working on neediness. After several rounds of haphazardly alienating half the club, I think LA is going to be fun! Had a smile on my face all night, even if most everyone else seemed so damn gloomy and angry.
Coming from Seattle where the main hurdle was just talking to people (what they call the "Seattle Freeze") and after eliminating any approach anxiety while there, the next step seems to be developing game and a strong frame (I've heard it called the "LA Hazing). I've been cold approaching girls at parks and beaches for a few months now across the States and have pretty much killed my approach anxiety -- game needs work though. BTW, I already do well enough, but it's within a wide professional circle where I have a lot of social proof, established networks, etc, so I don't really need to try, which is what this is all about. Hitting on professional women is a lot easier than being just one of the well-tailored mass.
Strengths:
• No approach anxiety whatsoever. • I have a lot of fun. Easy to keep it playful, despite continuing rejection. Gamifying works well. • Rejection doesn't hurt at all. • Can easily connect on a mental level (previous GF for 7 years and have lots of bs academic conversations with people) • Good attitude
Weaknesses:
• I rapidly lose frame. Frame is easy to lose when getting ranted at by a girl. Doesn't bother me mood-wise, even though I struggle to respond in a way other than, "ha ok peace have fun being upset" or something. • Don't think past the initial approach. • I go too far too quickly with girls with the teasing. Also questions and topics can easily be too abstract -- easy to lose people when they're answering bs questions like, "if you had a billboard what would it say" or something. • No logistics plan? Check!
Observations:
• Ritzy clubs in LA are a different from what I'm used to (usually go to bars in more hipster areas) and I don't speak the language. Maybe other places cater to different folk and success would differ? • The most successful guys were the ones who catered to and validated the girls far more than I'm comfortable with. I'm not going to spend 60 bucks to buy a group of girls a drink on the off-chance one will like me. Even so, I always see Mr. Desperate leaving with a cutie later that night, so he must do something right. • Playing on a different level here. Girls seem super ready to jump down throats as soon as someone takes a wrong step or says something off-color (really colorful shit test?). It usually ends up in a rather over-the-top rant. I end up getting sucked into the rant and justifying myself in a resurrection of old habits, saying for example: "oh I said you were ditzy because you remind me of a very important friend of mine from HS. Being ditzy isn't bad. It means that you're paying attention to everything around you, not just the person in front of you." Unsurprisingly, that doesn’t really fly, even if true. I might need to play with the distinction of dealing with a shit test in a fun way vs. inciting a full-blown arms race, as well as not being personally insulting or demeaning when having fun conversation.
Lessons learned today:
• Remember to breathe. Staying relaxed and grounded is key, and oh-so-easy to find with a few short breaths. • Never justify. Maintain positive attitude. • One wrong remark and BOOM you've lost these girls. It's really easy to feel like you're walking on thin ice. • You are just someone popping into their lives for a brief moment. Make it fun. • Don't let someone directly know you're on their game. Don't talk, just do. Honestly, I seem to want to explain that I know what's going on (because I read some TRP theory, of course, which makes me a total expert). • It's a numbers game. Sooner or later you always find a match. • It's not about you. People make up their mind about you regardless of what you say. • Keep it playful. • Timing is everything. Don't start battering down gates with questions or comments until the moment is right.
Questions:
• When you make a faux pas and a girl gets personally insulted (an accidental nuclear blast to a girl's ego), is it best to keep fighting to control the conversation or is it better to just ignore and move on, expecting that it'll all work out in the end? I rolled with the punches and kept fighting
All things considered, had a good time tonight. No better or worse than other nights, but had a great time even if I struck out big time every time. Looking forward to getting after it. Any input or comments are appreciated, of course, though not needed.
