As I adjust to life outside of the Matrix, I understand more and more how the beta's mind works. How simple they are. They take the most direct route, every time. There is no tact, no deviance from the norm nor delight in such pursuits of manipulation. They want to be the good guy, like it has meaning in their life. It's as if they care or are aware of what others think of them constantly.

I picked up two pints of my favorite German beer today at a local place that sells obscure and mainstream liquors. I was fortunate enough to catch an instance of the beta thought process. In front of me in line, was a beta. Cashier was a 7. He is talking quickly, fidgeting with his case of lite beer and breaking eye contact with her constantly. He must have ridden a motorcycle there as he had his riding gloves in hand and wore a leather jacket. On his back he wore a small ruck sack, brand new and in the Marsoc? digitized camo variety.

As he fails at getting his purchase into his small knapsack, he's attempting to chat up the cashier. She's only half heartedly responsive. I put my two bottles on the counter, maintaining eye contact the entire time. She is no longer paying attention to Billy Beta squawking softly about how "...it's good this is military grade" in a feeble attempt to garner interest. She's interested in me. I can hear the tingles. I pay for my purchase. Billy is still attempting to wrestle his mediocre beers into his small pack and drops his gloves. Without a word I pick them up, hand them to him. I take the pack and beers from him, turn the case 90 degrees and shove it in. I zip it closed for him, make eye contact with the cashier and say, "I'm accustomed to making good use of small spaces."

Her eyes lit up and you could hear the sweet melody of moist from between her thighs. Billy Beta was lost as to what just happened. It's simple. I made this dolt look foolish and gave myself machismo in this girl's eyes without breaking a sweat. He muttered "thanks" and left.

When I first unplugged, I was only marginally understanding RP concepts. I now understand how to implement them with subtlety. Thanks TRP, you've taught me a lot and I'll keep improving with your guidance.
