I read this, immediately got up and said, "fuck it, I'm going to lift" I'm gonna make it my mantra for the next 10 months.

Nice write up. I've been lifting for many years, but never really got into yoga. I'm going to have to try it out now.

A good posture are one of the many benefits of lifting. Naturally you walk with your chest out with a "I got this shit" attitude.

Lifting is amazing. It's the best antidepressant.

For those still in the anger phase, don't take it for granted. Mine was short, roughly a month long, but that anger was the best motivation I've ever had for lifting. I had been lifting as a hobby before the anger phase struck, and could very clearly see the difference.

It shaped my routine into what it is today, absolute ruthlessness. What i used to do in 5 days i now do in 3, and i only take rest days occasionally (1, maybe 2 a month) when the muscles i'm going to work that day is still sore. Assault your muscles with the utmost brutality they can take every day, but know your limits to avoid unnecessarily injuring yourself.

You went there to lift, not fuck around. If you want the maximum returns for the time and effort you put in, you have to put in the maximum time and effort you can every time you step into the church of iron.

They then deliberately positioned themselves that I would have to go through them to get to my bags.

So they smile at me and strike up a quick conversation.

I noticed they moved closer into me, almost invading my space. Before they would keep a good distance.

Don't want to be negative but sounds like the kind of male wishful thinking that is too common here.

Keep improving though.
