Obsession is a masculine trait of course (though some lesbians exhibit it too) and you sure as hell need to be obsessed to be a speedcuber.

Men being of higher ability at the Rubik's cube is consistent with men being of higher ability overall.

Speedcubing is not a creative task, but simply following a set of fairly cut and dry algorithms.

However, as someone who's gone through the process of solving a Rubik's cube before, spatial intelligence definitely plays a very important role in how fast a solution is reached. Memory obviously does as well.
