The answer is simple. Comparing women to teenagers is something called an analogy. We are not literally saying women are children.
Also, society may treat children in a psuedo-property like way, but children are still treated and respected as human and in many cases as more important than adults. So your leap of logic of, women are children therefore treat them like property makes no sense.

Because at the end of the day, they're still human beings.
Now, I'm not saying "respect them as you would a man", because they're different from men, so you have to respect them differently too - that's not to say I respect them less (like men, they get a basic amount until their behaviour says they get either more or less). However, "treat them like property" is just a bad idea full stop, because it will breed resentment in her, and that's never healthy.
