Can we send this back in time and hand it to my dad?

I was thinking the exact same thing.

I was a bit of a natural growing up. However, I did have quite a few problems, like most people. As I got older I sort of reverted into a beta due to some unresolved insecurities. But, for all intents and purposes, I'm pretty much a natural that went through a shitty phase.

In my experience, these are the key attributes to solid naturals and long term men:

  • Plenty of socialization from a young age. It can be other kids or other adults. Either way, the kid has to learn to be comfortable around people and be okay with asking them for help or to just play with. The earlier, the better.
  • Being taught independence and resolving their own issues. They are taught from an early age to not depend on mommy and daddy to do things. If they need help from someone, the mother doesn't do the talking for the kid, but instead gets the kid to do the talking and resolve the situation themselves.
  • Being a tattle-tale from a young age is a clear sign of BP dependence. If they are tattle-telling, it means they can't resolve issues themselves, and instead are relying on authorities. A kid needs to first try to resolve the issue themselves, and only then seek an adult after his personal attempts has failed.
  • Sports or other group male bonding exercises. It's important for a kid to learn the value of having male friends they can rely on and trust.
  • Having many strong male influences around in their life. Preferably a father that is around a lot to bond with the kid, but more strong males around also helps. It teaches them how to mimic good male character traits as well as be comfortable with their masculinity in a feminised society.
  • Teaching them the value of seeing things through. It can be anything from starting a small kid business from scratch, to working on a big project like building a treehouse. They need to be taught hardwork pays off well at the end. For instance, they may be working hard on the treehouse, and not once see any return on their work until that very last nail is put into place. Then all that free work they did finally pays off in a huge way.
  • Getting them comfortable around woman. I've personally seen a lot of dads get their young kids to go hit on attractive women in their 20s. Girls the kid knows are attractive, but clearly doesn't have a real chance with. This gets him comfortable with talking to pretty girls, and their general positive response helps them feel confident around them.

That's about it. Raising a kid requires a lot of personal time investment, so being in a situation where you can afford to give time to your child is key. In my experience, most problem kids come from households where dad really isn't around much. Either he's left the scene, works ridiculous hours, or doesn't pay much attention to the family.

Yeah, there is nothing really wrong with that. Some people just don't know how to be parents, and others aren't ready. It's perfectly normal not to fulfil many of these aspects. But it's critical to be aware of your shortcomings and begin as soon as possible to start correcting.

Personally, as I think many people in the seduction community, had poor father figures. Just about every male with these sort of issues I've met have had some issue with their father. From him being weak and a pushover, to him just being a downright asshole.

Mine was raising me alone with 1 other kid and was always out of the house. What little time he could spend with us was mainly with the other much younger child because he figured I was old enough to get by with less attention. Luckily, I found other role models in life.

Also, seeing things end to end. My parents sort of threw money at their problems, and never taught me the value of completing something important. It's something I am currently working on, because it's stiffled my entrepreneurial success many times over.

But again, I'm aware of these issues and what immediate effects they have on my life. Just being conscious of the problems alone means I can begin making progress.

That's how I feel about PUA. Take it with a grain of salt. Don't make it a lifestyle.

Agreed about the overbearing part. My parents had me on lockdown when I was a teen. Didn't allow me to have company, couldn't go a couple of blocks over to play with the other kids and it certainly did a number on me.

[–]boobiemcgoogle 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Mine did the same, but it made me develop an "I do what the fuck I want" attitude, instead.

Its funny how people criticize teens going through a "rebellious phase." As if it was something terrible? Nope, its natural folks.. Nothing to panic over, your kids just need to grow up and achieve independence.

Unfortunately modern parents and school systems extinguish any possibility for a kid to successfully go through this critical phase in their life.

I was just about to get concerned when I read the end. Very good advice, overall.

This is a manosphere gem. I hope to follow this if I have sons of my own. The most bitter part of the red pill for me isn't the harsh truths of how people really are, but the what ifs if I had gotten most of the skills naturals learned growing up earlier in life. Feels bad man. Although my parents have positively helped me out in other ways many parents don't, getting these things would have prevented a lot of the problems I'm overcoming now. But I can't do anything about what happened in the past except overcoming my shortcomings.

Makes me wish I had a son instead of two daughters. Also makes me wish my dad had been different, but I am who I am and he didnt make me how I am.

The biggest thing I learned from my family was self defense and self reliance. I had to do things myself if I wanted them done, so I learned how to do damn near everything I need to survive, especially automotive technology and actual survival skills.

I learned to defend myself and not be afraid of any other man by the constant beatings I endured, until I was big and trained well enough to end the abuse by severely injuring both my brother and father.

I made myself who I am, because I didnt ever want someone else to control, limit, manipulate or abuse me again.
