When I first started reading the Red Pill it made me very insecure in my LTR. I was completely new and thus I misinterpreted ideas and took posts too literally. I was sure my girlfriend of two years, who always seemed so adoring, was secretly a jacked up little slut who did nothing but cheat on me - completely unfounded ideas owing to my lack of self worth.

As I read more and applied more of what I read on TRP I came to understand:

  • She is not a unicorn. She never will be. No girl is. AWALT. Etc. And that's fine.
  • Everything is temporary. Right now we are together and we are happy. Tomorrow, we may not be. Either way, I will be happy or I will work to make myself happy.
  • No. Use it. Don't surrender to pretty smiles or bashing eyelashes. If you want to say no, say no.
  • Respect can not be compromised. Mutual respect or no relationship.
  • Now that I have improved I can see what she stands to lose and she can too. It shows in the effort she puts in (and jealous comments "how do you know that girl smiling at you?").

Because of my own insecurities I almost lost a well-raised, intelligent girl I have a lot in common with whose company I genuinely enjoy.

And she almost lost me. Wow.
