On the Spanish TV there is a dating show, very successful for people between 15 and 25. Is the classical game: one man has to find a girlfriend between several women (and the reversal). The difference with other shows is that is last for several weeks/months. You see dates from the female candidates with "the king". Of course a great percentage of what you see is just show-business and people trying to be famous.

Most of the contestants are very attractive, alpha males and women on the HB8-HB10, between 20 and 25, all the old people zapping through this program says "I can't believe this girl has problems finding a mate" (same with the guys). They have excellent body but most of them are unemployed or with crappy image & body jobs (night waitress, stripper, temporary model, personal trainer). They are basically broke and in the hope of being famous for a while, so they earn some money as star guests on night clubs, while they are in the show.

I guess one can learn a lot of relationships if is clever enough to mentally remove the show-business. All of them are there for the money, but at the end of the day, you have a competition between alphas. Most of those women never had to fight to get a guy and in a matter of a few programs they usually get obsessed with conquering "the king". They want to look great on TV, do some cash, but also are really trying to get the guy.

The king is in a abundance mindset, because of the nature of the competition (the reversal version has interesting stuff too). When the women perceive he has this mindset, opposite to needy, they get totally shocked. And of course, even more attracted.

An interesting point was presented recently. A funny guy with great presence and game, had to pick between four-six amazing girls. Some of them looked like first class sluts, but one was "the favorite" because she was attractive, but also the nice girl, somehow innocent, and also looked completely in love for the guy. As I say, the program takes several months, so they are close to the end and a lot of women has been rejected. She is the favorite and only a couple of programs until the final decision, when she starts the program with breaking news: she resigns.

So the nice loving cute girl tells the history on the TV. She was very attracted and having feelings but she happened to fall in love (or have very stronger feelings) for another guy she met on Facebook. She is very sorry, cry on the stage, but finally have to leave. "The king" is shocked for losing his favorite candidate, but at the same time, he has already an excellent breed of replacements. So he is upset, not destroyed or in pain - again the advantages of the abundance mindset.

The program is full of silly debate about how the dates where and why someone said something, by journalist called "love experts". So everybody is talking about this clear case of hypergamy, they try to research about the case and get to know the Facebook guy is a famous football player.

Fast-forward a couple of programs, the nice girl appears again. She met the Facebook guy, almost sure he fucked her, but then he told her their relationship is too complicated because of the distance, etc. (the football player is famous enough everybody knows he is married and the wife is pregnant!). So he discards her, with an extraordinary Don Juan attitude, just wanted to score this girl in front of "the king".

Most of the experts defend the woman behavior: She followed his heart, she was so innocent, the guy played with her. No responsibility at all. She even played with the chance to get back to the program as a returning candidate, but "the king" was mild about the idea.

For me is amazing how a girl can go with the hypergamy even in front of the audience, and jumping without net into anything looking better than a broke charismatic and attractive guy, jumping into a guy she have not even see in person. You see is not about improving the actual (potential couple) there is something else, the idea of fighting for the best possible male, whatever it takes and ignoring all the risks. This instinct is destructive as hell.
