I can't believe I'm asking this. Does using emoticons through texts constitute not maintaining frame? I've been on tinder for a couple days and know zero texting strat.

Use emoticons, but not excessively. That being said, NEVER EVER use lame stuff like "XD LAWL LMFAO" and all that shit. Putting a ':)' at the end of the sentence might change the meaning of it so be careful when using them. That's why I hate texting thing, there are no emotions, no body language just letters...

Emoticons can be awesome if employed properly, they can turn innocent statements into loaded ones and redirect people into your frame.

I think this is more of a r/seduction type of post, you might want to ask them, I know they aren't TRP focused but I have used their texting strategies and have had success. I rarely use emoticons

I stopped using emoticons entirely in my texting. I forgot whose advice I read, but it was a piece on how to write like a man. If you learn to use grammar and punctuation correctly, you should never need to use emoticons. Also, don't use internet lingo, shortcuts, and acronyms if you can help it.

Use sparingly. They can help with tone and be a flirty but don't be that guy that uses them in every sentence.
