Part of having a solid frame is being capable of knowing when to act and when not too. Keeping your cool, remaining calm and collected under duress. It's always smart to think out the immediate consequences of your actions in the moment as you seem to be doing. But you should be able to blow off those types of nagging feelings you seem to be getting after acting cautiously as it seems to be generating a feeling of suspense over the rest of your reactions. Blow it off, live and let be; why let one decision bear down on your mental state when you have plenty left to make? One step at a time.

Between fully acting out your impulses and denying them is the middle ground of sublimation, where you find a better way to express base desires. In the bar scenario at least I would've grabbed the guy immediately by the collar and threaten to take it outside. If it was accidental I imagine most people would apologize, so you get to express your aggression safely. And even if it does escalate into a fight, knowing martial arts allows me to end things rather quickly and injury-free.
