I take alot of what you guys say on here and try to internalize it into my everyday life. Im a medical student, 5'8, 165 pounds, in good financial standing.
I have been in two long term relationships.. the first was seven years and the second was two years long. The first one the girl broke up with me and it broke me. I barely gathered myself together (with the help of my mom) and barely got into med school. That was the boost i needed. Got into another relationship and after two years i ended it. The reason I ended it was because at the end of the day you dont owe anyone anything. I felt like i was taking care of her and making her life so much better and from my point of view without me her life would suck. I would take her out to nice places to eat, nice vacations, and show her a good time because my parents have done that for me. She was a amazing/caring girl but i wasn't giving her my 100% because the seven year break up really fucked me in the head. Mini back story on that relationship for seven years i was the best bf from high school to the end of my undergrad career. She finished nursing school and wanted to start her life and saw me as a drag because i couldn't pass the test to get into med school. I had one more chance to take it, i studied for eight months then exactly one month before i had to take the exam she broke up with me. She hit up some of my med school friends (they were good dudes and told me). After seven years of being there for her 100% of the time... seeing the world together, being with each other through tough times and just a kind of love that felt like home with her. Her ending it really fucked me.
I have come to the conclusion when you chase something it doesn't come as easy. Purse the things in your life that improve you as a person. You want an example, i am in school, i learn about stock trading, picked up country dancing, exercise everyday, and now im pursing to learn to play the sax. I have a good friend who chases girls as coyote chases chickens but hes missing out on life. Guys, go build relationships in your family, read, workout, pick up unique talents, improve your social skills... and everything will fall into place.
