From my experience, if you do intense exercise and lift, after a while you won't feel the desire for shitty food anymore. Your body will crave nutrients and protein - and you better damn provide them.

I used to weigh 230 in 8th grade. Then I did one thing I limited myself to a soda once a week. This approach is necessary because the best way to do this without causing pain and making you go back to junk food. I dropped to 210.

Then I began to drink a glass of water before each meal and my weight lowered even more.

I'd also like to point out if you eat 2000 calories a day you will generally be able to lose weight with a moderate amount of exercise.

I have to "compulsively overeat" if I ever wanna break 210 lbs. I'm going to have to start using drugs soon to gain weight, but that's besides the point.

It's all about what you put in (and making sure to stimulate new growth).

There needs to be more self help posts on TRP. If you've lifted before and stopped, being told "Go Lift!" is easy. A lot of dudes on here don't know where to begin, add the fact that there is so much conflicting info on nutrition and lifting, many will lift in vain.

I think everyone on the TRP who has insight into this subject, it'd be nice to have a TRP endorsed lifting guide, a lot of those men's health mags are no different than Cosmo.

I'm really great at portion control/making the right choices when I'm sober but when I smoke pot I have to fight the urge to eat a large pizza and four bowls of sugary cereal. I lose that battle a few times a week when I'm in my bad periods.

And no I will not stop smoking pot; the upsides (for me) far outweigh this downside.

The pepper trick might be useful for some but for most they just have no idea how to diet. People tend to way undereat on diets which causes their body to develop a supranormal desire and capacity for food. They undereating also alters the bodies metabolism and causes it to store a larger portion of its calories as fat and use less for energy. The fact that you have this obsessive compulsion for food suggests you also suffer from this self inflicted problem. A healthy individual will effortlessly regulate their own food intake when eating whole foods so as not to gain weight above their set point by simply losing their appetite when they've consumed adequate food.

Ask yourself: if all you had to do was eat less and move more than why don't you just eat nothing and jog on a treadmill for 16 hours a day and get ripped in 3 days? It's about getting the right dose; overdosing is not healthy.

For the record 2000 calories with that much exercise sounds way too low.

Gymnema Sylvestre, blocks sugar cravings. Also blocks food cravings from MSG. "Clears stomach heat" as we say.

It goes in cycles. I never had to lose weight before. I lost 10kg over the summer.

Now winter is here, I'm on a new program, and quite relaxed about eating. I'm doing Strong Lifts, so I eat to give me energy. But I've earmarked Jan/Feb to get back on it again.

I'm still a 32 waist, and sometimes look at myself in mirror and see the changes from my weight loss AND my new regime. But with xmas etc coming up, I'm more relaxed.

However come Jan/Feb I want to be ripped by summer. I finally know the plan to do it, so I'll just restart.
