As a former Java programmer during the dot.coms (1990's) part of what you went through is the mental burnout of too much sustained technical thinking.

The human mind has intellect and intuition and STEM related things have no intuitive aspect.

So you needed to break out of that single mindedness... lift... be healthy... return to the real world and get your intuition functioning again.

It's a beautiful thing to fall in love with yourself , for much of my childhood , teenage years , and young adult life I despised myself. I felt like I could never do anything right no matter how hard I tried . Like every success I had was some sort of luck , someones shedding their kindness on me , me just being in the right place at the right time . Life was a river and I was a log just being swept along it .

I found this sub earlier this year and for the very first time in my life I not only enjoy myself but I feel in control . I say what I want , not what I think I should . I do what I want , not what I think I should . My family has seen my weight loss success and are starting to treat me like a man and not a boy ( which I was pre-trp ) .

The beautiful thing is seeing yourself for yourself though . I can be an asshole , I can be kind , I can be funny , I am strong , I am definitely smarter than the average bear, and definitely more conceited than I'd like to admit , sometimes I do fuck up but I always know how to put myself back together . Ultimately I see value in myself as a being , if I would have died before TRP I wouldn't be able to tell you who I am but now I can tell you exactly who I am .

Try to encourage pride in yourself and your works, inwardly. Outwardly, dont be a braggard, let others do that for you. Pride masks loneliness and disappointment. Narcicism is a dirty word, but is exactly what you need if you are feeling down. Look at your body like you belong in a porno. To this day, im still trying to counter all the criticism and low self esteem i internalized when i was in high school

You think YOU wasted some time... Seriously though I agree with your post. I've wasted so much time being regretful and feeling guilty. One day you just have to stop. Accept the past since it is what it is and can't be changed and start living a present that is going to lead to the future you want for yourself.

Feeling bad about the past just tends to drag it into the present and make it into the future.

I urge you to keep going, crawl if you have to, but dont give up.

"You're right, Telenoobies, I'm gonna do it!" said no one ever. No one is going love himself and turn his life around and start living like a Spartan warrior after reading this. People are going to realize how to live or they're just going to die every day like the rest. I say let them.
