absolutely. april ryan would not be on the white house press corps if she was not a black female. yes, she's really fucking stupid. in law and medicine, this was a big deal in shutting down affirmative action because minorities (racial or gender) would get in on affirmative action, but then get destroyed by finals, or the bar exam / boards. objective tests give no fucks about race or gender. but a shitshow liberal industry like journalism, with no objective tests whatsoever, rewards this with unchecked abandon. that's how you get someone who is so fucking oblivious and stupid on the press corps with an international news agency for over a decade. she's not stupid because she's black+female. it's that she's stupid, and the only reason they put up with her objective lack of qualifications is because she's black+female. any white male as dumb as her would have been judged on his merits and kicked out long ago.
this is also one of the running theses for why the men at the top are getting even farther out ahead. in today's competitive society, women and minorities were shoved into competition with all men. women and minorities get extra credit for practically everything nowadays under equity of outcome. white men do not. this means most men who lose to women and minorities are not losing because they're objectively worse... some are, sure, but many are equal or even better. it didn't matter though because there's only a limited number of seats / jobs / whatever, and betas were squeezed out by people who only got there on equity-of-outcome extra credit. but the men who did win over those women and minorities did so without extra credit. this creates an even larger skill/talent gap. their mettle has been tested harder than anyone else could have been tested, creating a sort-of super-alpha-male. not only are these super alphas better than the betas, the betas have been kicked out of the competition, and whenever the minorities who otherwise wouldn't have made it don't get their extra credit (which is much of post-college life), it's a fucking bloodbath.

Shit that was long but a good read. You've got an interesting theory. I disagree a bit. The affirmative action idea goes all the way to the top were boards of directors will bring minority and even minority female CEO's because they're just as indoctrinated as other betas. Remember what happened to Yahoo and what almost happened here at reddit with chairman mao?

the point was that we have people being put into positions on the basis of their race/gender, even though they're not remotely qualified for those positions. it's not every minority, but it is many of them.
marissa mayer was a huge failure who destroyed a multibillion dollar company. they finally kicked her ass out. she was reasonably smart but never would have held her own if she didn't play the pussy pass with the google guys. it's widely known that she was sleeping with larry in the early days. the P&L statement gives no fucks about her gender though, or how progressive she wants to be as a working mother.
pao was a failure too. she lost at her jury trial because when she got passed up for board seats, they showed she had objectively worse portfolio management stats. their firm gave her a chance, and finally stopped letting her use the pussy pass. when they took away her extra credit, she sued them.

i never said this. it's not every person who is a minority. yes, there are women and racial minorities who are qualified, but there are just far fewer. if you look at the law school and med school affirmative action data, it's huge percentages. we're talking ~80% for blacks. saying "i sound like an average white guy" doesn't change the reality of the data (it's not even true... i'm over 6ft tall, make top 1% of income in the US, and live in a penthouse in a major city with an exotic executive job).
one of the studies actually looked specifically at the effect of affirmative action minorities on normal minorities who did meet the same standards as white males... it made it worse! they'd find that when it came down to finals clubs and study groups, most people did not want to risk their career foundation on people in their group being affirmative action beneficiaries, so they ostracized most or all minorities. white women were measurably the worst when it came to this ostracism, including against other white women.

You never answered the question on how many mediocre white dudes in positions who are there not based on skill and meritocracy .
I hate affirmative action and tokens, in a large pet because I'm axtually black and hate when people disrespect me .
That said, in my life I have seen most often average white dudes who fall into positions of power based on nepotism or politics, FAR more often than a token minority .
Not to mention, when you are a minority you have to work twice as hard just to prove to all the mediocre jealous white people who think you don't deserve your spot

this is directly because of affirmative action. there are numerous studies on this particularly aimed at law school and med school. that's what my last paragraph was about. affirmative action makes everyone, including both gender and racial minorities, discriminate against minorities more than if there's no affirmative action.
sure, there are some from nepotism or actual racism, but it's measurably far less. the same studies prove this... when you have objective tests in the way which give no fucks about race or gender, asians utterly dominate, then whites, hispanics, and finally blacks, ever single time. just as an example, bar passage rates for whites are typically 4-5 TIMES higher than blacks. male vs female depends on the stratosphere of society we're talking about... the male vs female IQ have the same arithmetic mean, but the farther up you get in successful society (where you see far more doctors, lawyers, engineers, executives), the male IQ curve is flatter, meaning at the top 10% of the global population, top 1%, and top 0.1%, men outnumber women in increasingly larger numbers. the number a couple years ago was something like at 0.01% in top IQ, men outnumber women over 100-to-1. the same applies also at the bottom... there both far more idiot males than idiot females.
