how does any random woman on the street know he's doing a PhD, a woman looking at you doesn't mean she wants you, pretty much every guy overestimates their SMV.

if the guy is getting older women it's simply because he looks older, he even says he's balding and looks 35 even though he's 25.

The Wall is approaching like a freight train for these older women, and he's looking like the escape hatch.

There's nothing "special or different" about his situation. If he were attractive enough those young women in the street would be eye-fucking him like the older women are. But they're not, which means he's not.

The older women don't see him as "attractive" in the sense that they actually want him, physically. They see him as "attractive" in the sense that "he can take care of me and any potential kids I will or already have spit out".

He can feel free to make a move on these older women, he just needs to know that they're seeing him for his provider status (and will only physically want him as much) until they get the ring. What he does with that knowledge is up to him, just know that the RP rheory was built on men that have been on the wrong end of a divorce from a woman who "doesn't find him attractive anymore and isn't haaaaaaapy".

Who broke eye contact first? What was OPs facial expression like? When the young women 'look the other way', which way do they look? Up? Down? To the side? It makes a difference. If up, they're bored. If to the side, they're just not interested. If down, they're submitting - go for it. Some time soon I'll post on an interesting experiment I did in an upscale club involving eye contact.
