This was a spontaneous instant date.

We walked around, then went to the park.

My first mistake was that I didn't tell her to put away her phone when she pulled it out (What a pussy). My second mistake was taking her out in the midday June heat. Absolutely idiotic. We were sweaty as fuck.

The conversation never went further than school, which was quite boring for me and consequently her. I didn't have the balls to go into deeper topics or to even flirt (except eye contact and light kino).

When I tried to put my arm around her, she said "we aren't like that yet" so I dropped my arm, thinking it's all good, I'll just try again later.

I took the chance for physical contact when I pointed at the squirrel which she didn't see, but again to no avail.

We sit down, chat about school again (fucking why??) - I did hold extensive eye contact - and some restaurant she didn't go to yet. She asks if we could go there and grab a bite (no I wasn't gonna pay for her food, we're students and eat for free there). I put my hand around her again, and guess what, she has a situationship with a guy with whom they're on and off.

Me: "That's kinda awkward for me". (Realization that have I just wasted an hour of my time).

After that, we're still walking toward the restaurant, she's rationalizing her decisions, I'm just nodding. I reached a point where all I was able to do was be brutally honest. I told her I don't want to be her friend, since I've clearly shown her that I'm attracted to her. I also told her I'm not coming to the restaurant with her, so we part ways.

If she ever wants anything from me, she can come over and swallow my kids, because I have clearly overextended my hand thus far.

Tl;dr: A shitty spontaneous date ends with a revelation that she is in a relationship.
