This is total self-coddling bullshit, and the supplement stuff here is some legit new agey woo woo nonsense.
I live in a ritzy area, and there are quality gyms for just $30/month. There are even some shittier ones around for just $10/month. Fitness products are often made affordable and targeted at poor people. It sounds like you're already planning to spend money anyway. Spend it on a real fucking gym and get yourself into a squat rack.

Forget about supplements. Eat beans, chicken, rice, and some cheap steamed vegetables. You need protein, not supplements. If you want to supplement then get a huge bag of protein powder. It can be a little pricey, but it'll last you forever. That particular bag from optimum has a shit ton of extra vitamins and minerals added, so maybe that'll satisfy your psychological need to supplement.
Always remember that if you're not doing barbell squats you're not really working out. No excuses. My fucking mom does those and she's almost 60. Don't be a pussy. Start with just the bar and add +2.5lb to each side every workout. If you don't want to rush it due to age or insufficient protein intake get a pair of 1.25lb change plates from rogue so you can go at half the pace. Be sure to get your shins right, and your heels right, or you'll hurt your knees. At your age you probably won't be lifting ultra heavy any time soon, so there's not much risk anyway.

Thanks much, so the 5/5 is pretty much the no nonsense efficient way to do it with weights. The main diet you laid out is what i eat now
As far as "self coddling bullshit / not doing barbell squats isnt working out". Not arguing with you, as that info you gave Im gonna check , but I don't see how a serious body weight training regiment adding 100 lbs of weight to the body squares with that . How is it that guys like Herschel did & does no weight training and able to kick ass in the NFL and MMA in his 50's ?
I do appreciate the time you took to make the post, and im checking those links out now and soon, some more affordable gyms in my area - not looking a gift horse in the mouth here as i have bookmarked the links in a folder and copied your post

You need to follow the principle of progressive overload.
Start light with each lift and add +2.5lb to each side of the bar every workout (for +5lb total). Your body slowly adapts to the increasing weight, and after a few months you can go from squatting 60lb to 180lb.
Throwing on a 90lb vest at random and staying at that same weight isn't going to trigger any gradual, safe, sane adaptive muscle development. At any given time 90lb will either be too heavy for you, or too light for you. It'll be "just right" for exactly one workout or two, at which point you should go to 95lb and move past it. You have to keep going up in gradual increments. Never stay at the same weight for more than a workout or two.
Do normal barbell training, especially if you're going to be coming to Red Pill forums for advice. If you want to do MMA or bodyweight stuff go look for help somewhere else. Red Pill people are pretty much always just going to yell at you to do squats.

For $420, go on FB marketplace and buy a bench with mini squat rack + 300 lbs. you are being foolish with this vest idea

The social experience of going to the gym is valuable. You see other people doing stuff and it’s motivating. Especially for a beginner.
Lifting at home is more for when you’re on a roll and want to go into hyper efficient mode. Not commute to the gym, not spend time changing, etc... Or if you have family that lifts too.
It’s a not a terrible idea though. Good for extreme introverts. Don’t step too far backward in a cheap home squat rack though, you’ll miss the safeties.

It depends on the person, but generally you are right about the gym and motivation. With me, I get the opposite experience, always have. Saving time has always been a huge motivator for me to work out at home. In the hour you spend driving there and back, getting set up... etc, you can get your full workout in
You can buy an Olympic bench which includes a solid and safe square rack for about $150 on FB marketplace. I’m a big fan of it , obviously. You can get good used gear for a fraction of the price on there... same with musical equivalent... depending on the city/state

roger dat - man im checkin the strong lifts guy on youtube - now that i see it done like that - im pretty motivated now. I could prob get in this gym with a good friend of mine nearby who knows alot of this shit

Yeah, Mehdi is a badass. The amount of information he provides on his site is just as epic as his lifting skill.
Don’t take his weights as an example. Start light.
Squat only just the bar. Do 5 reps with just the bar. Add on 5lb, do 5 more reps with the bar +5lb. Add on 5 more, do 5 more reps with the bar +10lb. Eventually you’ll fail to get the 5th rep because it’ll be too heavy. Take off a tiny bit of weight, and that’ll be your 5x5 weight. From there add +5lb every workout.

thanks - yeah ive been actually just practicing the movements watching the vids faking the bar. I just have to find the right gym that isn't to femmed out and has the gear
thanks aGAIN
[–]Quaternionz 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, it’s not unheard of for gyms to have such pussy gear that they won’t even have one squat rack. Most gyms will have at least one squat rack though. The ones that don’t are usually themed all pink and targeted at girls. Anything targeted even remotely at men will have a squat rack. Good luck.

Genetics + steroids
I have a 26 yr old relative that is half black and his dad played semi pro football as well as a full ride for basketball. This kid can lift 5 times a year and be more buff than me lifting 2 times a week for a year. I don’t have genetics on my side, so hard work is my answer

@OP: Actually most MMA fighters will do snatches and clean and jerks, which can go really heavy, and are both needed to be accessorized with the components of those lifts ie: squats, front squats, jerks, and deadlifts with varying form. Their main focus in conditioning will be on endurance and explosiveness.
With bodyweight training there's only so much you can do, you can't get to lifting twice or thrice your bodyweight. Also since you're a beginner, and in 6-12 months time you'll become intermediate, you'll realize how fast you can progress linearly, that is: heavier loads gradually.
It is also very hard to correct postural functioning when not experimenting under high loads. With weight training and a bit of education the faults in your form become blaringly obvious. Given the faults, you have a chance to deload and correct those deficiencies. The postural corrections go a long way, translating to your everyday movement and to your looks. Back pains, neck pains, crackling of the joints all go away as a result of constant good form. Also your abs will look great, because you begin using them the way they were intended to be used - as stabilizers. No meme situps needed. Heavy weights -> good posture -> way better health -> higher SMV.

My Muslims clients make more gains during a month of Ramadan than you ever will with your wizard powder.

the core of my contemplating that program was not powder. Plus i wasn't advocating it adamantly like you are trying to imply that i was. Not sure of your reading comprehension level, but i worded it to where I was open to a real deal weight / gym program that was provided initially by the first guy and even posted that im checking it out . I guess i don't have to guess that you are roided out judging by how you reacted to what is basically an innocuous post and subsequent replies. That said, id love to see how some of you "gym bros" could handle working construction for 8 hrs a day all week in Florida in 100 degrees with 100% humidity. We provide the air conditioning, electricity, and plumbing so you can work out in comfort and have clean power so you can blow dry your pubes after your hot shower

Post pictures of yourself. I have third world clients living off organ meats and plantains way the fuck bigger than you.
Indians Egyptians Venuzualans. I got them all. You wanna see a Muscular Peruvian bro I'll send you one.
Unlike you however they actually have a work ethic and arnt Ameritard magic powder delusional.

cool, ill make sure to mainline some roids in my balls before checking your pics of your clients for maximum effect

Since you don't know the difference between lipid and aqueous solutions, I wholly endorse your previous comment.

If your broke as fuck you should buy a bar and plates and concentrate on the fundamentals. This isn't an opinion it's been repeatedly proven by backward ass countries like Bulgaria defeating the US olimpic team via barbell training protocols.
Next your supplements are retarded. The Red Pill is filled with gym Bros. All of us are laughing our asses off. You really think if your hormone faggot powder worked people would use AAS. No. Plus steroids are actually cheaper scientifically proven to work and accuratly dosed unlike fag powder.
Schering and Jelfa don't lie on the label unlike your fag powder factory.
This whole post is a Blue Pill Rocky Balboa LARP. It's like your a fucking time travelor from the 1970's. You want us to participate in your old man bullshit. Thanks but no thanks.

Planet Fitness is $10 a month. That's $2.50 a week. You can afford that. Skip the fries next time.
[–]Nov51605 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
does planet fitness have real deal gear ? (squat racks, enough weight for decent deadlifts, etc...)
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
If you can't be convinced to go to the gym, then at least swap the monstrosity of iron that is the pullup bar with gymnastic rings. You can put them up anywhere outside (trees, beams, in the gym...), and even inside if you have a high ceiling. They are $30 and will give you a lifetime of challenging exercises.
Supplement-wise, protein powder and creatine, that's it.
wasn't closed off to the idea of a gym, especially now that there are some spots for $10 a month
[–]AlmightyPerun2 points 7 years ago* [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link
Ditch all the extra-retarded supplements, it's all bullshit. Just eat properly, and you won't be needing them. Such a huge waste of money, and then you complain you have no money. Without them, you could easily afford going to the gym, and that actually works.
there's this butcher shop i just remembered that has a lot of different meats in bulk that should make high protein intake affordable
[–]AlmightyPerun2 points 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Eating "healthy", or "properly", is by no means expensive, people just don't have a clue so they buy fucking chia seeds and other similarly expensive products flown from other continents. Keep it local, and keep it simple.

Been going to a gym forever. I’m currently paying $20/month but the most I ever paid is $30/month. Unless your unemployed I think anyone can figure out how to set aside $1/day. If you can’t then obviously lifting is not that important to you.
i believe i just found a "pitbull" type gym for $10 a month - appears to be that kinda place for heavy stuff
