I'm continuing to stumble on the same idea again and again:

  1. There are people who were born as prodigy or as genius. They smart and successful by the birthright.
  2. There are the rest of suckers. Who may only wish to become mediocre in their life.

The truth is not so pleasant. I knew one guy who was extremely and intelligent person. This person basically made me switch to engineering occupation from psychotherapeutic. I liked to be a psychotherapist but the world is too fucked up. When you're psychotherapist you constantly stumble on the same shit again and again. Here is a couple. You kind of helped them out. And then, couple of years later they back with the same old problems. I was extremely angry and anxious at this time. Because - the moment I looked away this dumb fucks go back to their previous miserable life.

Basically I was lucky to have a mentor in engineering field. The guy helped a lot and explained that the bridge between psychotherapy and engineering is really small. And if you're smart somewhere you would easilly pickup new skills somewhere else. Lets call him Mr. Structure Engineer.

I was always fascinated by his sharp mind. But when I finally dared to ask him: "How can I be so smart one day?"

He shrugged his shoulders and told me: "I learned to read when I was 3. Then I started to wake up early and sit and read. I always read books through my life and when I didn't understand something in one book - I got myself another one on the same subject and read till I understand shit. Sometimes I didn't go to sleep till the moment I solve the problem which is on my mind".

So the guy was smart, the guy could be called as 'prodigy' or 'genius' but the real truth that he was working always throught his life starting from his diapers. So if somebody is really smart and you are basically carried away by their intellectual superiority - it's not because they had so cool genetics it was because they was working and working. Through multiple years. With no purpose just out of interest and fun.
