I'm sure you'll all be familiar with this image. The video it was taken from was on the front page yesterday. I just shaded it and altered the color. This is what she chose to wear while roaming the streets of New York. It is form fitting and accents her hourglass figure. She may not be the most attractive woman, but she is no doubt a curvy woman. There is no mistaking her ample bosom and rounded hips.

So what's a man to do? He is attracted to this. His reproductive system is on high alert for fertile and beautiful women. Can we change a man? Can we tell him to not take notice of this? Maybe he should avert his gaze every time a woman passes just like peasants used to do when nobility passed.

When my dog was in heat I used to hide her in the bathroom because I knew the neighborhood dogs would be climbing my fence and rushing to fulfill their genetic destiny. What’s different about us?

I’m a man, I can’t speak for every man, but I understand the powerful urge in my loins every time a beautiful woman comes near. I feel it, my instinct and my consciousness engage in a battle. I know I can just take her and have my way with her because I’m bigger and stronger. I can outrun her, subdue her, and ravage her. Then I can leave her to raise my offspring and try again in another town. But the world doesn’t work that way anymore and I’m no dog. Here is where being a civilized being comes into play. I firmly believe that what separates mankind from animals is both the understanding and repression of our sexual urges. Men of old understood these urges and put barriers to them.

Men and women realized they were naked and wore clothes. This is the first act of consciousness (knowledge of good and bad) according to the bible. Every depiction of caveman in art and literature has them at least with a loincloth. Enlightenment followed: Fire, the wheel, speech, laws, writing, philosophy, mathematics, art, poetry, technology, civilization.

Some women want to wear whatever they want, no matter how revealing, and expect no consequences. When you think what a savage man is capable of, catcalling is the least of my worries. They want to turn themselves back into sexual objects and not get called out for it. But the structures of society are breaking and maybe some women just want to go back to being naked, return to harems, and bring us back to our animal forms. As the men in the video so proudly exclaimed ‘Woof.’
