So nice that you've written this. It's like you didn't just listen to all the bullshit mainstream opinions about this subreddit - you wanted to have an opinion of your own.
Well, the core of the red pill isn't to "get the girl" - it's all about self-improvement. It's about being the best version of yourself. I understand that you don't understand much of what you've read here, but I'll try to explain.
I won't deny the hate and the resentment in some of the posts in this sub. To explain that fact, I'll try to put yourself in the shoes of a modern man. Picture this: you're a kid and you grow up to Disney's utopia of romance, of being the prince charming. You enter puberty and you see that girl you think you love. "Damn, she is so pretty!", you think to yourself. You're now discovering your sexuality, always horny because your blood can't deal with that much of hormones. Being a male, it's your job to try to make things work out, as sexual selection was given by nature to women. Then, you remember what the cartoons and your mother had taught you about "getting the girl". Just be nice and sweet. That's what you do, time after time, rejection after rejection - while you try, your friend who seems to have the incapacity of giving a fuck has no time to answer the flood of texts in his phone.
A few years later, with an impressive résumé of rejections under your belt, you realize that something is wrong with you. It HAS to be. You're not that ugly, you're actually nice and preoccupied with the girls you constantly fall in love with - but you just can't get any romantic intimacy with them.
As a girl, even if you're average looking, you play the love game in easy mode. You don't need to do much. You can - you can learn to attract the men you want - but you don't need to, because you have options and because you're pretty good at enhancing your looks.
You find the red pill, and the guys here offer you a solution that WORKS. Improve yourself, lift, learn how to flirt and be masculine. The 21st century males are so lost... and this is hope. You try to implement what you've learned here and that girl who didn't give a shit about you starts to actually notice that something is different. You become a better man, and with that comes the girls. Some of these guys still have a lot of resentment and hate to fix - that's why you read them in some posts and wonder what's wrong with them.

Wow, that's a really interesting perspective and not what I was expecting at all. I think that for guys that have not been successful with girls, there likely is something they are doing that is turning them off. I don't think it's solely a male problem, but I can see where women have the advantage when it comes to dating and generally will have more of a choice (though some might argue choices are limited primarily to sex and in many cases romance is secondary). I can say that there have been guys in my past (mostly when I was in my teens), that did seem to have the "Disney prince" approach to pursuing a relationship. Writing me love letters (without really knowing me), sending me a rose on valentine's day at school (which is a very nice gesture, more so if the person knew me). In many cases, and I hope to not offend anyone, it doesn't come off that the guy is being sincerely romantic (which one might argue is something more appropriate after a relationship is established), but desperate (also not only a male thing, as men do NOT like desperate girls either). SO I can totally see how this could potentially be a solution for those guys who have not had success otherwise. I just hope that in the process the concept isn't lost that we are actually far more similar than we are different. There's all different types of men and all different types of women, and everyone is just trying to find their place and learning what works best. I hope that being a good person in general isn't put on the back burner in order to be a person that might get laid. But I do truly appreciate your response. It makes a ton of sense.

Women have the luxury of not having to make the first move. As a man I've had to learn to deal with alot of rejection. It's toughened me bit boy oh boy it was painful.
[–]fancyanalyst1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Totally true, but I would like to say, I literally have made the first move in just about every relationship/romance I have been in. Because to be honest, many guys are so afraid of rejection that they will NOT make the first move. Which I GET. The balls in our court, so it's almost natural to give a strong greenlight so the guy knows if a move is acceptable.

Thanks for the response. Yep, goes both ways and thanks for being open minded enough to check out The Red Pill. Good documentary as well by the same name.

The hilarious part is how unaware women are of what they want.
Ask any man what they want in a relationship, good sex a hot meal and between none and little drama will probably the most common answer and truth.
A girl will tell you she wants someone sweet kind giving loving and all this romance novel stuff. Get it handed to her on a silver platter, then will dump the sissy for a bad ass mother. This is what make a grown man mad

Two problems.
You come here and see hate.
You go to the ocean, you see water. Do you leave with the impression that the ocean contains nothing but water?
Acting.
You are acting, if you are acting like a Disney Prince. That's a fantasy. Reality is, men are rough around the edges, and quality women like that. We tell guys to be themselves, not a Disney construct.
Lastly, maybe the angry kids act a certain way to get laid. But the rest of us adults, "act this way" to better ourselves.
Now you ask quizzically, better themselves??
Yes, everything you use and touch and where you do it, is because a man was himself and created it, discovered it, or conquered it. Nothing beneficial to the survival of mankind, will happen with the pussymen colleges are turning out now.

Hate really is the new buzzword of the times, isn't it? What you're seeing is redpill rage. The angry lashing out at women men feel when they've had their entire idea of reality shattered by the cold hard truth of how the world is. These men have gone their entire lives thinking that their soulmate is out there and that they can have their happy ending only for us to flip the script on them and tell them that this fantasy is a lie. How would you feel if someone told you that the fantasy you'd been working your entire life up to has been a complete lie and to pursue it would most likely mean making yourself miserable?
You say you have empathy for others, but you're only seeing the outward reaction, not the inner turmoil of these men. This sub is named after the matrix scene for a reason. This isn't an easy pill to swallow, and some see the choice and the information we present and choose to live in their bluepill world anyway, because that pretty lie and attempting to have that fantasy means more to them than knowing the truth and protecting themselves from the inevitability of failure that society has created in these relationships.
One of the core tenants of TRP is not hating women, it's understanding them. Do you hate a car when you learn it has to run on gas? Some people might when they learn they have to pay for it with their own hard-earned money. But they'll accept that fact and move on with reality, or they won't and be worse off for it.
Once they learn the truth and accept it they can either go MGTOW and sign off on women for good, if they think the risk is too much for the reward of sex and companionship, or make women a part of their lives and satisfy their sex drive and potential need for female validation. It's just a part of the process.
Hate is definitely strong these days for sure. However, I do think the fantasy is a lie for everyone. That's why it's a fantasy. Women also build this whole world based on the fantasy in the same way, and are just as crushed when it isn't true. It's not just romantically either. I mean, that's life. As you grow, you realize the world isn't necessarily what you thought it would be. And sometimes it's really terrible. And for some people it's even worse. I am glad I have a better understanding of these ideas, because I think maybe this whole movement gets a bad rap when it is based on a lot of very logical ideas. I don't hate on you guys, but I do think we all experience different sides of the same struggle in many ways.

You should probably read the sidebar. The "fantasy" is a belief that things like the 80/20 rule, and female hypergamy and solipsism, and the lopsided marriage and reproductive laws won't affect them. This "fantasy" is concerning female nature. Not some abstract concept about the American Dream or romance in general.
TRP isn't a dick-measuring contest about which side has it worse. This is a male space focused on male sexual strategy and self-improvement, so we're not really concerned with addressing women's issues or comparing our complaints to the other side. Unless you're a lesbian you're not dealing with the kind of struggles we deal with here as men. Understanding these issues might be a lot easier if you look at it through a lens of a masculine-only struggle to achieve reproductive success instead of trying to directly relate to it. Men and women are fundamentally different and because of that employ wildly different sexual strategies.

Read the side bar section under where it says "new here." Read the intro and then read Michael's story. Good place to start. Keep in mind that anyone can join and comment here so some of what you see as negative isn't necessarily coming from people who truly understand or actualize TRP. You can also pay attention to what commenters and posters who have the endorsed contributor or red pill vanguard flair by their names as you are more likely to get an accurate idea of things from them.

It seems more like TRP is teaching men consciously how to attain their goals that may come naturally to other men who already get women. I don't think they despise women, they just see their nature and accept them for it.
Maybe an analogy is like trying to hunt deer by going to a stream and waiting for them expecting them to behave like fish. At first you get angry that they should have been coming to you, but later you learn to their nature is to live in the woods. When you go to the woods, at first some of you may try to shoot as many deer as possible to make up for the fact they didn't pity you when you were young, naive and wading in the streams. Later it becomes so easy and so abundant you don't need to hunt deer every day. After you've learned how to successfully get deer, you're neither impatiently waiting at the streams or trying to shoot every one that passed you by. Sometimes you're so peacefully enjoying the woods, the deer cross your path naturally.
Some people are still angry and blaming the deer for living in the woods and not the cities they've built, finding faults in how they behave; others have learned to camp or build cabins there, and they are no longer angry and passing on their wisdom for other people to enjoy hunting.
Redpillers adopt beliefs and "change" themselves in ways that will better help them get their goals and live a positive life. We all change ourselves if something before isn't working.
The goal is not to get women or get revenge. It's not being the most malicious hunters possible to make up for deer being so elusive. I guess the analogy would be better if the deer in benefits too from being hunted. They do.

Here is the deal: Even if you are a so called "high quality" person who merely wants a man with your level of qualities, there will be acts you will both respond to and perform more so than others by virtue of being a female; further, there are instruments by which you, also by virtue of being a female, may gain an (at times extreme) advantage over a man if things go sour between you two (such as divorce court). This sub is, explained very simply, about adapting to all of that. Nothing more. If you see hate, you have not understood a single sentence here.
[–]fancyanalyst5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I do think that women do have certain advantages in this world, and to deny that is totally ignorant. I also think men have certain advantages in this world, but because those are more commonly recognized, I realize it's not the purpose of this sub. And I think it makes sense to adapt to that. I don't see hate in what you've said, but have seen it in others. I'm glad to see that so far all of the responses have been really enlightening rather than offensive.
