Summary: Be a producer of content/thought/information; not just the consumer

One easy way to separate interesting people from the uninteresting ones is to find out if a person has a 'producer' or 'consumer' mentality. People who consume all day - consume social media, click bait news, clothing, material things, even songs and movies are far less interesting to interact with because they simply consume, do not process that information much and have very little to contribute in a discussion or a social setting. Contrast this with a person who is a producer - producer of blog entries, music, athletic performance, drawing, painting, sketching - whatever it may be. Something that takes a mental and/or physical effort. It doesn't matter if your music sucks, keep at it and it will get better. Don't get disheartened if nobody is reading your blog articles - keep thinking hard and putting interesting content out there. Writing a blog takes a lot of mental energy - you have to process your thoughts and emotions, structure them and keep working on a draft until you feel confident about putting it out there. It is hard work. Same goes with food - don't just order food online all the time, cook yourselves.

This is a key to develop sound mental health and interesting personality. And an easy tool to identify and acquiring company of interesting people. Granted, to produce information, one needs to consume it. But don't just consume, produce something too. A little self-introspection and self-discussion from time to time goes long way.

More importantly, apply this criterion to girls as well - the ones who are of 'producer' mentality provide a fulfilling, enriching company. The ones who are of 'consumer' mentality just drag you down with constant nagging and neediness and plethora of emotional tantrums. Having gone through the whole dating scene, it is so refreshing to come across someone who has an active hobby and is serious about it. Most people don't have any hobbies. They think browsing all the Facebook feed and Yahoo image galleries of the celebrities makes them cool. It does not.
