I find myself oscillating between two equally unproductive thought patterns:

1) I'm an evolutionary dead end (figuratively speaking, since kids aren't really a goal of mine), and I'm fine with that. Ride it out, eventually die and none of it will really matter anyway. There are enough fun/interesting/entertaining things in the world to keep me busy until then. None of them socially oriented of course.

2) No I'm not! There isn't any reason I couldn't have the lives some of the more successful guys here describe. Money, power, beautiful women (not the internet fatties I normally manage to drag back to my cave). But, then again, see 1.

Number two wouldn't be as unproductive if it weren't for that last line. I just can't seem to shake it.

I have moments of clarity. I've lost a fair amount of weight. Getting put on blood pressure meds tripped that trigger for me. Got off the meds. Still fat though. Just not AS fat.

I moved to a new town going on 4 years ago. Big city from ridiculously small town roots. I've made no friends. At least not social friends. There are some people at work I get along with, but don't hang out outside of work. Really, I haven't made a good friend since highschool. And I don't talk with most of my highschool friends. Distance and not really being able to relate to them anymore being the primary reasons. All getting married, having kids, or at least having a social life. Most interesting things I can discuss with anyone tends to be current events, philosophy and politics. The three least social topics possible.

Literally find myself singing "another Saturday night and I ain't got nobody" to myself every weekend.

Sounds depressing, but I wouldn't call it that. Not depressed or angry, just defeated.

Anyway, I don't think I have a point. Just thoughts that roll around in my head and wanted to write them down.
