You guys don't understand. That's not rape, that's only violent sexual assault. That statistic doesn't include all the times a strange man checks me out on the street, which is obviously an even worse kind of rape.

Rape culture is about the idea that our culture supports rape.

Rape culture is a concept which links rape and sexual violence to the culture of a society, and in which prevalent attitudes and practices normalize, excuse, tolerate, and even condone rape.

By this definition there is definitely rape culture in America, only it's against men and boys. You will never see the idea of rape against a woman in any way supported or endorsed in the media, but sexually violating men is played for everything from comedy to romance. Nut shots are an example of normalizing sexual violence against men, the equivalent in pain and suffering would be sudden forceful insertion into a woman. Even cartoons and video games make it all seem okay to hurt men sexually, men are disposable after all. Against women though, not a chance.

Ask feminists to use the actual definition as a guideline to exemplify rape culture in any part mainstream media or popular culture against women in the US. Hint there are none.
