My readings this weekend were rather enlightening to me and I thought it would benefit subscribers of this sub to read vicariously through a brief summation...

Reading 1 - Meditations Book IX by Marcus Aurelious

Key Red Pill points:

  • It is a sin to fight against the Natural Order of the universe. We all have aptitudes to distinguish what is natural and what is not.

I believe that our Natural Order is the 1950's nuclear family, which took us 10 thousand years to come to.

  • Running after pleasures as if they were good and running away from pain as if it was evil is a sin. Bad people are often employed in pleasures and acquire things that may produce them. Good people are involved in pain and what may produce this.

By not pursuing pleasure - ie women not riding the carousel during their prime years - we build a productive society. By pursuing pain - ie, that which is difficult, like higher education or craftsmanship, we can become proper providers and have healthly societies. By pursuing pleasure, we hurt ourselves. Women become unsuitable mothers and wives and men no longer have the incentive to work

  • We all bear fruit in the appropriate season

Apple trees produce apples in the summer and fall, and they are delicious and juicy and healthy. Apples that are picked near the end of fall are past their maturity / rotten and not suitable for consumption. Women have fertile seasons too, and feminism has spread the message that marrying late and having children late like men do is what women should be doing too, because masculinity is what females should aspire to. Its the equivalent of encouraging us to pick our apples in December.

  • It is wrong to blame people for doing wrong, bad things, making wrong, bad choices. How can you blame the unistructed for doing uninstructed things. Instead, find blame in yourself for not expecting them to behave poorly, for they are the poor.

We live in a society where unchecked hypergamy is made glorious and praiseworthy. Promiscuous women are made to look strong. When women ride the carousel, they are doing as society instructs. Don't be mad at them. Be mad at yourself for expecting them to have class in the first place.

Now that we've concluded that we are wrong to expect women to have class... what do we do? Sit and mope? Wait for them to finish the carousel ride? Betas would do that... I prefer to capitalize. I don't expect women to have class, and if the carousel can't be stopped, I'd rather be one of the stops than that guy with the Winner's curse at the end. Which brings me to my next reading:

Reading 2 The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene

I reccommend reading the whole book, but the part I will talk about is the part about "The Rake", which is a type of seducer.

The Rake is called a rake after the men in hell who are doomed to rake coals for eternity, for that is where a pick up artist with this style of seduction is sure to end up.

For many, it may seem strange that a man who is dishonest, disloyal and has no interest in marriage would have any appeal to a woman, but it is exactly these qualities that women find so attractive because it offers them what Natural Law (see Marcus Aurelious reading above) does not permit them: Pure Pleasure. A brush with danger. A feeling of freedom from the oppression of virtue.

The rake may have conquered a thousand women before his current target, and she knows it, but that only makes him more interesting. It is better to be abandoned than unnoticed by this kind of man.

The great seducers do not offer mild pleasures that society condones. They offer the repressed desires that cry out for liberation. The Rake does not assume that women are tender creatures that blue pill men would like them to be. The Rake knows that they desire the forbidden, the dangerous, the slightly evil; the man who rakes the coals of hell (its all part of the fantasy)

To play the rake, you have to let yourself go. Let your passions guide you. In pua terms, be in a sexual state. Abandon yourself in the moment. Make someone feel like you exist for them alone in one passionate moment. The rake cares nothing for what anyone thinks. He is determined to overcome obstacles that would prevent him from seduction. Never worry about going too far. The rake's essence is that he would go farther than anyone else.

One of the rake's most seductive qualities is the ability to make women want to reform him. I often tell guys that they need to leave deficits, make the girl want to fix you all the time. I'm a rake, and this works for me, but other people may be different types of seducer archetypes.

When caught red handed, the rake falls back on his weakness for women. What else can he do when so many women are going for him? - remember my story last week about the girl on the side texting my gf our texting history? What was I supposed to do? Girls throw themselves at me!

Finally, a Rake's greatest asset is his reputation. When people confront you or try to shame you, its out of pure jealousy. Your reputation is what makes you dangerous, seductive, its what will give women the thrill they seek. Never downplay it. Only a whiteknight / beta would try to use it against you, but much to their dismay; its actually your weapon, not theirs.
