This is something that almost never gets mentioned here, and I'm not talking about the Wall. I'm talking about how when you read advice based on experiences, you don't really know if it's coming from a college guy or a married guy with kids in his 40s, unless they say so. Don't just think about the differences in his experiences, think about how differently the women are acting at those respective ages.
When I read a post and I see "So there's my plate, hot blonde, 19..." I stop and immediately know that there is going to be some really basic and obvious hypergamous shit happening. Most girls only get hints of their power over betas in high school. They get slammed with it in college. And then this carries on into the "real" world until about age 26, when they realize that they are getting beaten at their own game by alphas and a handful of reformed betas.
I have previously advocated a rule to state the ages of participants in posts because for us, it's going to be incredibly informative. Think of how much different an LTR is for a 20 year old living in a big city vs. a 33 year old in a suburb. Think of how YOUR approach, as a man changes.
To contribute to this concept I'll add one observation of my own that ties in TRP core concepts that are frequently touted. We see a lot of posts about the successfulness of tactics by men that display two characteristics: fun and leadership. Not saying these are the only two, but these are the ones I'll talk about.
The nature of these displays changes with age. Specifically, it's what you show potential for, versus what you are actuating. In younger years, you should be having fun more than you just showing your potential. Whereas for leadership, yes you are leading here and there in very minor ways, but it's more about showing women a potential for leadership that gets their lizard brains tingling. Just to avoid confusion, when you're at a party and get the group to do something you suggest, that's fine, but the real magic in that moment is that it broadcasts that you can lead when it really matters, when real things are at stake. The split happens this way when you're younger only because there is more opportunity for fun, and less opportunity for leadership in more serious situations.
When you're older, you better be leading if you want respect from women. You better have responsibility over some people at your work, be head of your family. Real shit. The time for potential is over, now it's about doing. Whereas fun, there is just less time for it when you're taking care of all this other real stuff. But you still need to show you can have fun, otherwise no women is going to want to hang out with you except to be a leech.
This is a quick example. I would love to hear some more examples like this because it's important for everybody to know. For younger guys, it gives a clue into what to expect in the future. For older guys, it's a chance to refine skills in a different environment. I'm 30, and let me tell you, it's a much more subtle game now, but more high stakes. The same psychology is always happening, but it looks very different if you don't pay attention.
The lizard brain is still there as it ages, but you need to learn new ways to see it because it's going to be wearing a business suit instead of a plaid skirt.
