You know it matters. Quit hamstering it doesn't. Whatever you get, how much ever you get, it would be better and more if you were in better shape.

If you're crippled by arthritis hop in a pool and swim a few laps.

It decreases with age yes. It will always matter though so why not do everything to make yourself as attractive as possible?

Caring about one's physique should aways matter regardless of age. It is one of that set's you apart from the masses. Especially as you get older where its common to see people let themselves go because they're "old".

What really matters is being 20%+ in anything you do. But being in a great shape dont only benefit your looks. But if you have higher status you can slack om looks and vice versa etc.

if no, you're limiting your body/organs ability to function optimally.

It only matters if it’s important to you. I’m 51 and hit the gym 4 days a week and stick with big lifts (deadlift, squat, bench, etc). The payoff is I feel and look great and date much younger women. No plans to change anything anytime soon so really don’t know what age it won’t matter anymore. 80 maybe?

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I don't condone giving up on your fitness, but there does seem to be a mild conflict of interest with respect to physical appearance and age that I seldom get any perspective on. I feel much more motivated now.
