Sincere question about real, lasting change. Does it happen by "taking a pill"?

Change comes in time. It is not an immediate change, it's a process, reinforced by habits and mindset.

I think this IS a good talking point. "Taking the pill" is about opening your eyes, thinking for yourself, and not just accepting what others say overtly. You must feel entitled to judge others and yourself in your own mental space without censoring your own thoughts to yourself with everyone else's expectations and judgements and succumb to group think. I think you are right, opening your eyes is only the first step, and does NOT create lasting change itself. Changing yourself into your ideal is complex... but for me the biggest change has been focusing on personal entitlements, which i had always lacked. It starts first with defending your social rights in interactions, but also requires motivation... which is highly connected to health diet and fitness.

No, it isn't. Humans are creatures of habit. At the start of any new activity, it takes conscious repetition for weeks or months to develop a new habit. It takes longer to completely break a bad, but pleasurable habit.

Take running for example. If you commit to running 30 minutes every morning, the first few weeks to a month are going to suck. You are going to be sore. You are going to want to turn the alarm clock off and get 30 more minutes of sleep. You won't want to drink water to make sure you are hydrated in the morning, to give yourself an excuse. Keep it up for six months, and when you have to take a day off, you will feel awful because you missed your routine exercise in the morning, it would have become an ingrained habit, and a healthy one.

Changing a mindset is even harder, because you can't put a calendar on the wall and say you had a positive, not self defeating mindset liked you exercise that day. We all have thoughts every day, good and bad. Instead, you have to consciously shove out the negative self defeating thoughts and attitudes with positive, self-motivating ideas.

Most of us literally need to make weekly and daily plans, literally something we can touch and see, to keep us on track, otherwise, it is very easy to just sort of drift aimlessly through life.

Taking The Red Pill is a Figurative rather than a Literal conceptualization where the people (Men) in this sub, the associated blogs and a growing portion of the larger (Male) population challenge the generally excepted Social Narrative and instead, attempt to explain and navigate the actual Reality of what they are experiencing in the world at large.

Taking the Pill is also an Euphemism used to express the idea that the world is not as it appears or is explained to you (us) by the people (Feminists) who have an agenda that does not have our (Men's) best interests in mind.
