I wanted to expound on /u/ShallITinder's thread regarding Social Media since the comments are interestingly pretty strong on both ends of the spectrum.

Some view it as purely validation seeking, and Blue Pill, and some believe that it is a waste of time, with no value.

Social Media, whether you like it or not, has ingrained itself into our society and that is not going to change. It has literally changed the world, and how the human race communicates, at a faster rate than the internet or cell phones did.

Now, how does Social Media affect us here at TRP ?

Well, the importance of Social Proof is one of the core tenets of the principles of TRP, and unless you are a celebrity of some kind. Social Media, when implemented properly is probably the most powerful form of Social Proof that we have access to.

The next argument that I see a lot, is that no one cares about your boring life and that it is useless trying to create a "fake persona".

This argument is pretty interesting because yes if you lead a boring, sedentary and completely uninteresting life. Then your Social Media and the SMV associated with it would be pretty bad.

Where the argument falls apart, however, is if you do live an interesting life, then your Social Media will display that and your SMV will be positively affected.

Now, if you have been swallowing the pill for a while. Then you may have developed some interesting hobbies, and lead an interesting life. This part, is truly where you can't be fake, and where you should be doing things because you enjoy them, not because you think chicks will like it.

If you are an RP man, then you should be taking advantage of every tool you have available to you in regards to the Sexual Marketplace. Especially the most powerful one.

I have a strong suspicion, that the guys with a strong indisposition towards Social Media either

  1. Don't understand it and are unwilling to learn.
  2. For whatever reason, don't meet the standards to benefit in regards to SMV.
  3. Are unwilling to concede to the privacy issues that come with Social Media.

Out of the three options, I have a feeling that number two is the most prevalent. A lot of guys on here are unfortunately as /u/GayLubeOil put it Counterfeit Redpill.

In this context, they may still be overweight, may still live with mom, or may honestly just have bad genetics and be an uggo. In this case, it is easier not to address their issues and instead, say things like " Only women need the validation from Social Media", or " Social Media is pure Blue Pill".

Of the above options, number three is absolutely understandable. However, be aware that by not participating, you limit yourself.

As far as being a waste of time, or of no value.

The amount of time it takes to post a picture here and there of your adventures through life is very insignificant.

Value wise, that all really depends on your personal goals.

Think of any of the RSD Nation guys, or anyone like them that is involved in nightlife in some way. They are able to reach and interact with their intended audience for free. That is a very powerful thing from a marketing perspective.

Or for example, Dan Bilzerian. Now yes, that dude was rich as fuck already. However, before his Instagram became what it is, no one knew who the fuck he was, and now he is pretty damn famous.

Beautiful women flock to him now, not because of his money (well some probably), but because of the value that being seen with him on his social media provides.

Are you going to be like Dan Bilzerian ? Probably fuckin not.

But can you live a cool ass lifestyle and have it enhanced by a strong Social Media presence ? Absolutely.
