I'm "at that age" where women's "preferences shift." That's the lie they tell, of course. The truth is, their priorities shift, their preferences don't. I know I'd get some pity/duty sex, knock out a few babies, and that "would be life." I'm the guy that girls always said they'd "like to marry someday." (You know, "boring" because I wasn't dealing drugs or working to get where I am today). Except I'm not interested in that. I caught on late in life, and now I'm not in relationships. I like to date casually, bang, and then ghost so they can't even blow up my life with drama. Personally, it was a big revelation to me that women love being degraded, choked, called a whore, and so on. It got me so hooked on degrading them, that I started doing it to girlfriends in public. Then I started doing it to strangers. My favorite spot so far has to be speed dating events.
But this isn't about "me," it's about speed dating in general, and how to succeed at them, how to stand out. Speed dating events with age ranges below 25, or dating events that are free, or are put on by university will be flooded in a high ratio men-to-women, because the hot women have options and men beating down the door to take them places. Once you crack 25+, it begins to even out in terms of number, as even the densest unattractive women have figured out that sitting around waiting won't land them anyone and they need to at least show up to appear on the radar. Once you crack thirty, it's high ratio women-to-men, roughly two to one, as even the once-hot ones have stopped being hit on.
The dating market has never been so pure in mathematical expression.
I at first thought that if I "made it" in my career, that I'd have women come sniffing around. I hadn't thought about how long it would take me to become professionally established, or about the quality of the women at that age. Most of them have kids, tattoos, STDs, and have developed weight issues and six figures of debt. They have gone from being a joy to have in your life, to being just another burden and a responsibility. (Side note: How does someone even get cellulite on their arms and think 'this is fine'?)
But I suppose I enjoy this role reversal a little too much. Even if it's still men 'approaching' (it makes no sense to uproot almost everyone when there's about half the number of men at the event.. No, seriously. The imbalance is glaring.
The interaction goes something like as follows- I walk in, am 'assigned' to an area, have a drink that comes with the ticket (protip- these event organisers are extremely willing to throw you a discount if it means you'll show up. A lot of these hags will shriek in 'not understanding math/economics/"wage-gap"' if they find out the men are paying less for this 'service.') I am tall, have all my hair, fit, and well-dressed/groomed. By their thirties, most professional men are rocking at least something of a dad-bod, and a lot of the single ones aren't 'on the market.' My advice? Don't be one of those guys. Be one of the guys that draws eyes.
A lot of empty tables there, and as other men will attest, the attention is typically limited to the top 2-3 guys. Be one of them. Heck, talk with them. You'll more likely make mates with a guy there than you will meet an interesting girl. No woman who has to rely on these things to find a partner is worth your time. They're career women who threw away their value to time.
Some of these have gimmicks and so I've needed to plan ahead. Andd of course, wear protection- a fake ID and a google voice number for contact details, and a burner email.
The event organisers are basically desperate for men to show up if it costs money. If it is free, expect to face more men to show up in numerical competition, but the quality of that competition to be awful. Not really worth the time.
Expect 'fat, fat, super religious, creepy and boundary-crossing, fat, pretty much normal, but post-wall.' Expect these questions, often in order: "Do you like kids?" (Single mom) "What do you do for a living?" (My time on the carousel is up and I want to land on a stack of cash) "When do you want to get married?" (How soon can I collect half your shit?) "Do you like to travel?" (Okay, you earn cash, but are you willing to spend it on me?) "Do you own or rent?" (Do I get a house when I divorce you?) That in their limited time of four minutes that they've chosen these questions says everything about what their "priorities" are, and what their "preferences have shifted" to.
Thots will defend these questions, 'they're just questions!' But ignore why it is that they're being asked. Personally, I like to let them get their questions all out, because I 'pass,' them- which sounds like not biting the shit test, but I like to answer them in a bored, simple, couple-word answer "A Tesla." and make it obvious that they're boring me with these questions. Feign total disinterest (not difficult) and let your interest wane more and more until you are actively looking at getting up and leaving. Make it clear you can converse, but aren't interested in doing so. A spark of 'oh, something actually interesting-' and then let her slip up and sink right back into: 'fuck it, you're boring and I'd rather someone else was sitting across from me.' The same kind of games they used to play on you to make you feel shitty are amazing at breaking them down. I've had one start to cry before, like right there on the spot, probably for sympathy, maybe self-pity. I just got up. That was the conversation starter for the rest of the tables, at which point I switched tactics.
You can also be a fun, super interesting, positive alpha who loves kids, has this whole storied history of helping poor kids and what it meant to you and how it helped you grow as a person and how you keep the little person in mind at your company. Keep it up, be nice, talk about your passions, and then, with equal happy-bubbly, reject them. 'No thanks,' or 'I hope you find someone,' and flip back on them the same shit they used to say to you. 'I'm sure you'll find someone, you're so nice!' The look of total frustration is also funny- and now they understand why the other girl got up and cried. They can't and won't hate you, though. If they ask why, remember the usual shit women say: "I just don't feel a spark." (Oh how they HATE hearing that shit.)
(If you can't control your body language and force emotion/conveyance of emotion, then I recommend you start practicing your acting. It's a good way to maintain frame. Inspect your fingernails for dirt, lean back in the chair, stop looking her in the eye (don't look down, obviously. Look through her, like she's not even there.) Basically, make her start trying to get your interest.)
I also advise you to not ask what she does for a living- she'll have ready a nice-sounding lie. Flipping back on her "what do you weigh" is too openly confrontational/direct for me to pull off. I also try to outplay her at "indirect questions": 'So what do you do to stay healthy?' but it's still just playing her game and she can just lie about it. ("Oh I do tough mudder/spartan!" Yeah, she gets her fat ass carried by her coworkers). Alternatively, she'll make a joke about 'pizza, wine, and netflix.' Just stare, or make a face of pure disgust. You can get up and walk off early, too, just a reminder.
You can see it all come crashing down around her. Every step that led her to being single in her thirties, paying money to be at an event just to be insulted. Before, men were beating each other up just for the chance to talk to her. This is where the hamster hits warp drive. I promise you that it's sometimes hilarious to watch. The tragedy is that even if it occurs to them to try self-improvement, they're already thirty. It's too fucking late, lol. Even if she loses 40kg a year from now, she's a 31, wrinkly, washed up thot.
Lastly, remember, you are the prize to be won. These washed up thots offer absolutely nothing at all that you as a man are supposed there to meet them for. The other guys, however, often have skills. You can network with them. You've seen them in a moment where you're ostensibly there for the same reasons. Common interests, new hobbies, commiseration, social groups, or even just someone to bump into on the streets to catch up with. Lots of good reasons to go speed dating, but none of it to do with dating. Most of them are just lonely.
You won't see anyone good at these events. But it's fun to break down their sense of self-worth, frankly. Rarely, but sometimes, you might get a business 'career woman' who took her lonely work friend. See where and how you go, but in my experience, speed dating is a waste of time and should be done only to get your jollies off in rubbing it in their faces.
