TL;DR: Don't wait for the perfect later. Escalate and go for the kill when you get all the signs.

Got out of a LTR little over 3 months ago, and although there are ups and downs, bit by bit I'm getting back in the singles game.

One night I went to a party and saw a girl I knew from about 10 years ago. The spark was instant and we made out throughout the night. The attraction was truly amazing. O - and yes, there was some XTC in play here.

Due to logistics, I couldn't close so I set up a date two days later. Although the conversation was very rough (first time actually talking, instead of making out on the dancefloor while high), I escalated and we went back to my place.

We made out for hours and moved on slowly and steadily, but even though she was naked - I had my pants on - it was getting boring. Why? She didn't lead it further. Somehow I had the idea that she should underdress me from her own initiation. Of course, this was my fault by not leading. Simple lack of experience.

So we actually went to sleep, and I had an important day coming up so had to wake up before we could have another try. I thought this 'having a mission' would give my some kind of advantage that we might could continue this a different night.

However, afterwards I tried setting up another night. Completely flaking, and saying that we'll see each other around. Bummer.

She was likely turned on by the attraction at the party, but completely turned off by me not taking it all the way.

Lesson learned: strike when the iron is hot. Take the lead. Go for the kill.

I know I'm just getting back in the game, and this was a painful realization because she was super hot.
