It’s the most debated question on TRP. Is [that] alpha or beta. More digital ink has been spilled in TRP posts and comments on this topic than any other.

I’m here to tell you that these debates are pointless and you all need to read the sidebar. Alpha/Beta refers to the human female’s dual mating strategy, whereby she seeks to secure the best possible genetics for her offspring (alpha) and also the best possible provisioning for her offspring (beta). Ideally she would obtain this all from the same man, but as this is often difficult to come by, multiple men will do. Human females employ this strategy because humans are complex organisms whose large brains take many years to develop, leaving us helpless in the mean time. She cannot raise the baby alone.

So next time you are thinking of labeling something alpha/beta (usually because you are trying to justify a behavior that you believe is morally correct), please stop and ensure you are using the correct paradigm, not your own personal preferences of what you think it should mean.
