The real reason, like it or not, is that women evolved, as the book Sex at Dawn goes a great detail into, being effectively gang-raped.

Proto-women would be raped by multiple men = multiple orgasms. Men would not = singlular orgasms. The penis is in the shape of a scoop to scoop the previous mans sperm out of her vag. The best "scoop" aka biggest cock wins the impregnating contest.
