As a heads up, this post is going to be a very broad generalization about the risks we take as men and how the odds are affected during each step we take.

Suppose that each step with a woman can be broken down into 50/50 odds: the Yes or the No.

A woman isn't going to take many of these risks for a man, simply because she doesn't have to. As long as she does some simple self maintenance, she's only going to face one 50/50 with a man.

Does he want to fuck her? Yes or No.

That's the risk she takes.

For men, it's a bit more complicated.

The first step we take with a woman is the approach. So, we are 50/50 that she's going to even be receptive enough to have a conversation. That's a 50 percent chance of a Yes. Not too bad, right?

Then we must build attraction. That's another 50/50 chance of a Yes. After step one we are at 50%, then our odds are halved again with step two, leaving us with 25% that she will be attracted to us.

Basically, this means that each time we risk a rejection we are halving our odds. 50 becomes 25, etc.

You get her number, 50/50, so that means you only have a 12.5% chance of making it this far. She agrees to a date, 50/50 (down to 6.25%). Flake 50/50 (down to 3.125%). Date goes well, 50/50 (1.5625%). Back to her/your place (.3125%). Sex (.15625%)... It goes on and on.

Look at it this way, each time you make it to a Yes, you conquered ever increasing shitty odds. The numbers are not with you, but you won anyway. This means, if you've made it this far, you are the .1%. You've done what 99.9% of men would have been unable to do with her. Good job Mother Fucker.

The odds are not on our side. As men, we risk rejection at every turn. We put in the effort, we take the risks and we (more often than not) get a No somewhere down the line.

But that's what makes us the men we are. WE risk everything. WE have the balls and the gall to stand up in face of ever increasing odds of failure, because we must. Nothing's given to us. WE must take what we want and we must risk losing it at any moment or else we gain nothing.

Go, Earn it.
