Don't address it. If anyone brings it up, be vague and mysterious with comments like "It was worth it." or "I can handle more then that." Be brief, concise, and act like you have the upper hand that she's trying to get back. Let her talk and talk like it's important to her, when to you it's not.

Focus on the long-term to get a better woman in your life and keep your thoughts on how you feel when that day arrives.

There's plenty you can do.

First, don't lose control of your emotions.

Second, you calmly let the person know that what they did is unacceptable, and that it is assault and battery, and that you COULD file civil and criminal charges against them.

Third, you calmly let other people know what this girl did, but without acting like a whiny crybaby. The point is to make the girl look psycho and get people to ostracize her.

Fourth, you cut all ties with the girl that slapped you.

Fifth, the only way the girl gets out of the doghouse is if she pays some penance. An apology of words is not enough. If she refuses to make it up in actions, whatever you deem acceptable, then that's it.

Slapping someone in the face is straight up assault and battery. Women do it to men all the time though because society doesn't assimilate it as assault and battery. Since women are assumed to be weaker than men, they aren't usually thought of as capable of hurting men, and their violence is lumped in with that of a child. Thus, if a 5 year old child slaps you and you slap he or she in the face in retaliation, you're the guilty party, because it's just a child, how could you! Male violence is associated with war, killing, destruction, domestic violence, etc. Female violence is associated with emotional hysterics that the male probably provoked with his misbehavior. That's the stereotype you're dealing with. However, since ignoring someone isn't a suitable provocation, you are absolutely 100% in the right. Nobody thinks you are a bitch, at least nobody you should care about. If people turn on you, then fuck them, they ain't your friends. You should calmly insist that people take your side. Ask them how they would feel if it happened to them. Ask them what would happen to you if you slapped a girl in the face for ignoring you, or a guy for that matter.

The key to this whole thing is be calm but make it clear that the slapper was in the wrong, not you.
