If they don't like the trend, they don't need to follow it. This body acceptance shit is just an assault against self-improvement and trying to lower the standard of what an "average body" is.
I had action figures when I was little that were jacked up Jay Cutler swole. When I was a teenager I saw dudes on TV with [what I then considered] shredded as fuck bodies with perfect abs. Not a single peep in the media or online about how these things were "promoting negative body image in boys" or "the abs trend, why don't you have abs???" Still like that to this day.
Eventually in my late teens I decided I kind of wanted to be like that, and started working out. Lo and behold, 3 years later I'm [what society would consider] pretty big and fit, all through natural methods.
Now, I could have said fuck it and started pinning when I was 18. I had access to test, dbol, the whole works. With the right stack I could have probably acheived what I am now in like, 6 months tops. I would have had the instant gratification of body image, but at what expense to my health and body. I'm glad I educated myself and was able to make the right decision, because I both look and feel great.
The only reason this is such a big deal right now is because people are becoming more aware of the "thighgap" trend, and all of the "but muh curvessss" fatties aren't exactly rocking one. So they throw up articles all over the internet about HAES and how being thin is just a media illusion and why it's so dangerous etc. As you can see, this article was written by a plus sized lady.
I don't really give a flying fuck about thighgap. Girls can be hot with or without it, different people have different bodies. Sure I love throwing around a 95lb skeletor around the bedroom occasionally but it digress. If a girl is actually stupid enough to starve herself or use unhealthy methods to lose weight, knowing full well they are unhealthy and unsafe, then I have no sympathy whatsoever. She is not exempt from survival of the fittest just because she's a little suburban princess.

Wasn't "the gap" like forever anyway, some girls have it with out being that thin. Womens hip bones naturally broaden. Fat on the hips doesn't help delivery. Thinspiration,(I was into it myself though being a bloke) the rule was you thigh needs to be thinner than your knee.

Let's be serious here. Look at her, I would rate her a MINIMUM 8, probably 9 or 10 depending on how she walked/talked/fucked. Now it is common for people to try and push that this is somehow even remotely as attractive as this which, unless you have a fat fetish, is just plain absurd. If a girl is PROUD to look like this then she's fuckin stupid, BUT that doesn't mean girls like this aren't sexier. I know lot's of 'plus' girls that are tall, thick, eat healthy and go to the gym and look fucking hot, and lot's of slender girls that eat shit and are lazy and gross. Some girls DO have naturally thick bodies that they would have to be unhealthily skinny to reach the standard 'slim' image, and some girls have naturally tiny bodies that are actually unhealthy as fuck but you don't notice because it's so hard for them to appear big. The whole idea of this subreddit is to be realistic, and I hardly see this girl as being your average disgusting fat-pride feminist.
PS: Just look at porn and porn ads to see that they intentionally advertise to male markets some... curvier girls, not fat, but sexy.

There's nothing wrong with being fat. You'll simply be less attractive in the eyes of many. The issue here is what people are trying to promote. This whole idea of shaming people for wanting to have a more attractive appearance is whimsical and nonsensical.
And personally, I speak for myself when I say that I prefer women who have a slender frame, do indeed have a thigh gap and have narrow waistlines. The downside of this is that these girls generally don't have large breasts but it's a trade off. It's all preferences. If you feel like she is an 8 or higher, so be it.
But it really shouldn't be any wonder that models like Miranda Kerr are idolized.
I would give her a 0, a 0 is automatic for a girl I have no interest in fucking. But you are right on what porn determines as being attractive as it is molded by demand. She's not really fat just thick. She definitely could use some gym time to tighten the body up but she has the top to match the rest. Some guys really like that type of body, specifically those hips. Those are baby making hips and indicates a female who's body can handle producing lots of kids easily.

WTF are you talking about? She's not fat. I don't personally find her attractive, I prefer the "spinner" body myself yet I know guys who actually prefer the thicker body. There is definitely a difference between curvy / thick and plain fat. It's the ratio's and proportions between chest, belly, hip and thigh. As long as belly is under chest and hip enough that it creates an hourglass shame your ok.

I personally never went for T&A, just don't see the attraction, every time I used to bring it up around blokes, I would get odd looks. And would have my sexuality questioned about it (Though I bi, I know it sounds like a contradiction but it isnt). Out of place, but I would of much rather have a pin up of Twiggy, Penelope tree or Kate Moss. Hell Keira Knightley before they started to fake her tit size. This real women momentum has made people afraid to even consider women like that beautiful.

I'm into small petite women myself, but you gotta recognize that some guys are into bitch's with big tits and a healthy sized ass. They are not harpooners as they don't dig fat chicks.
The difference lies in the proportions. A fat girl will have a round shaped body, her stomach will be such that it makes her look like a beach ball. A thick girl will have a smaller middle then the top & bottom. Not all women can have that shape as it requires broad shoulders and large breasts.

And DNA, I myself have a bmi of 22. Bmi is not foolproof, but I am not talking about muscular outliers. I simply won't look at anything with a larger bmi than myself. No about of fat acceptance is going to change that, if I am making an effort to maintain myself I didn't see what is wrong in expecting somebody I go out with to be the same. But I will be called a pedo for liking girls "that look like 12 year old boys". This is very true, if she doesn't work to maintain then she'll blow up after having a kid or three. She may have won the genetic lottery and got a body that favors storing it's fat in the ass / breasts, still doesn't discount that she's not fat and there are many guys who are into that kind of body. It's been my experience that black dudes really dig a girl with those proportions.
Story time: So I'm out here in East Asia surrounded by skinny (by western standards) chicks. My best friend out here is a tall black dude and we're always talking about this stuff. He'll point out a chick with T&A (fairly rare) and I'll comment how she's ~ok~. Then I'll point out a chick with an athletic body and he'll say the same thing "she's ~ok~ but he prefers the chicks with T&A". Basically we both prefer sexy chicks but with slightly different body types. I like small and petite so I can toss her around like a rag doll, he prefers bigger ass's so they can ride him like a stallion. I've done curvy girls and while the tits are fun to play with and they got a nice feel when doing doggy, they just aren't as fun as the girl who can do bedroom gymnastics with me.
Anyhow it's just about recognizing that the women is not fat. She's getting mighty close but hasn't crossed over into the B&J's club.
