Going to a planned street fight is probably the stupidest thing you can do. If your opponent is planning on participating in an unsanctioned fight many of them will bring a hidden weapon which they'll pull on you if things aren't going their way, or bring friends to jump you if you start losing. Not to mention many people are sore winners and will start kicking/stomping their opponent in the head after they go unconscious. Which obviously can cause brain damage. Watch any world star fight compilation.

The time I'd fight a stranger outside of the gym is if they pissed me off in public, and they gave me legal cover by attacking me first. Unfortunately every some idiot wanted to act like a "tough guy" in public they backed down once they saw that I was not only ready to fight; but eager to throw down.

If you want to fight strangers get into mma. At least in the gym you'll know they won't pull a knife on you, or have their friends jump you. If you fight in a sanctioned match you'll know they won't give you Aids or Hepatitis C if they start bleeding on you as well.
