Seriously give bodyweight training a go. I used to lift weights for a while then I stopped due to being a lazy ass and not really enjoying it. However, calisthenics is really enjoyable for me and I still get the same PUMP like that of weightlifing.

Contrary to popular belief:

  1. You can build muscle with calisthenics

Weightlifting isn't superior to calisthenics in terms of hypertrophy(mass gain) it is just a bit easier to progress. You can still gain serious mass if you lift weights.. check out "Hannibal for king" or the natty "kali muscle" lol

  1. Calisthenics doesnt need a gym membership

This is obvious you only need a pull up bar

3.Calisthenics is a more fun alternative if you get bored at the gym

If you don't like your training chances are you wont stick to it that much or you'll probably be doing half assed workouts

  1. Calisthenics strength transfers better to weightlifting than the other way around

  2. You can build serious strength with bodyweight traning

Handstand pushups, planche, muscle ups, one arm pushups/chinups etc. that stuff requires a really strong body

Cons are

  1. Bodyweight training is a bit harder to progress

  2. Its a bit harder on the joints if you do not work on your mobility and stretches
