Just wanted to post an update to my vasectomy AMA.

It's been a week and the stitch is gone and most of the bruising and swelling has gone away. There's almost no pain, but too much pressure still hurts, like getting bumped or when pants pull on things.

Saturday and Sunday I was healed enough to go out to the bar & club over the holiday weekend and had a bit of sexytime on Tuesday. That said, I really should have stayed home and rested more over the weekend as the activity and all the walking I did caused some pain and swelling that I could have done without. By Wednesday though the only real pain I had was the stitch over the incision. One tip I will give you all is to put a bandaid over the stitch/incision so the underwear or jock strap you're wearing doesn't catch it in any way. The last couple days when I was doing that made it feel a lot better.

In conclusion my advice is to stay home and ice your junk for at least 3-4 days. And I mean feet up, frozen veggies on your junk, taking the prescribed pain meds, and only moving to eat or use the bathroom. It does hurt, but it's not terrible and I think is something everyone could tolerate. It's a lot like basic training: it's not the worst thing you could ever experience, but not something I'd want to go through again if I could help it.
