Okay so, just a little background, I'm a first year engineering student. This last week I was on reading break, so of course, that means party hard; time to try out some of the stuff in earnest.

So last night was my final night off, I go to a friend's place, where I though it'd be a few friends, nothing big, but then turns out its a party, a bunch of first years, some grade 12s, not a bad crowd. I'm not drinking too much because I gotta get home later, so I have a few beers early with my buds and then start scouting out. I notice a cute blonde is say a 9, though a decent amount of makeup so I suspect she was probably more of an 8.

Anyways, stay chatting her up, turns out she's not drinking because she has to drive her already very drunk friend. She's also not from around here, perfect. Hit it off pretty quick, do the classic hand-shoulder - back escalation, and she reacts positively. I should also mention that it was a themed party; wear green if you're single and interested, yellow if it's complicated, and red if taken. She was wearing green, which straight away told me she was game. Eventually she says she's gotta go check on her friends, so I figure I'll ignore her for a half hour or so, don't want to come off as desperate. It works like a charm, eventually she comes back into my vicinity so I figure it's time to see if she's really game.

I pull her aside and get close, she light shit tests me with the "you're standing a little close."

To which I respond, "is that a problem? She shakes her head and then I close.

The rest you can figure out, I just wanted to share my story in case anyone, for whatever reason had doubts about escalation, honestly, read the basics of game, and remember, you're the hot commodity, and don't let them forget it. Letting go of your target for a half hour or so is a good thing, and remember, you're doing this for you, so don't forget to have fun.
