Similarly, it seems to me that MMA fighters (physically dominant men) tend to have more daughters than sons.

Take a look at some of the notable names in the sport:

  • Cain Velasquez - 1 daughter
  • Jon Jones - 2 daughters
  • Chris Weidman - 1 daughter, 1 son
  • Anthony Pettis - 1 daughter
  • Demetrious Johnson - 1 son
  • Anderson Silva - 2 daughters, 3 sons

I seriously doubt this theory. The diet of the pregnant woman during pregnancy has almost everything to do with what the gender of the child will be. Basically, the more food/high protein food is consumed, the more likely the creature will be born male. Since most people/animals don't have access to high protein/large diets then there are less males born. I'm at work and wish to provide links to back up my claims but I'm sure the theory presented is flawed.

Biologists have noticed that many animal species produce more sons when resources are abundant or the mother is high ranking (meaning she gets the best food). This is commonly observed in invertebrates and mammals as well, such as horses, some types of deer and cows. The phenomenon is often explained as an evolved survival strategy.

Let's perform some basic reasoning before we go into studies.

One, male children are more difficult to give birth too, we die more often as we are being born.

Two, we have greater caloric requirements during pregnancy and post partum.

Now, knowing that a females body can miscarry on purpose due to deformation in the baby ( it really only does this early on, after about 5 months her body will attempt to carry it to term.)

Now let us think, why would studies show that babies can magically change sex?

Are they not taking into account miscarriages that were boys?

Is it possible that insufficient diet caused the male fetus to become deformed to the point that it had to be aborted by the body?

But there aren't less males born. Males are born at a higher rate than females.
