OP, I don't know you but as someone who first subbed TRP before it had 100 subscribers, this is an inevitable part of what happens to a sub as it gains popularity. I'm sure you've heard of the saying that a person is smart but people are stupid. As we start getting more and more subscribers, the ratio of people who know what content to submit and what content not to converges to zero. And you can't really expect the mods to mod as if it were a full time job. I remember when I first joined, I would read every link and learn something from almost every post. Now we have people who post kind of mundane, off topic, or simply rehashed stuff; people who submit self posts questioning basic red pill tenants; and of course, trolls masquerading as people who are "genuinely curious" about whether men could really believe this stuff as if we're all collectively going to be like oh shit you know what I guess I don't think this, and then unsubscribe. It saddens me that now I skip about half of the things posted to hear, posts read days after they are posted because they're just boring or irrelevant. And I'm praying to god that we don't start getting field reports like r/seduction because it gets old listening to people have small, mom consequential victories. At this point OP, people like you and I can't really depend on this sub for interesting reads. We kind of have to go find it on its own.

Yeah, I joined when it was under 250 subscribers. Its steadily gotten worse and worse. Sadly, I dont think there is much that can be done.

Edit: but i do believe the mods are doing a great job, mostly.

We're in the process of adding a few more mods because the more we grow the more SRS and other degenerates attempt to censor us. I personally ban several people a day but I can't read every post in every thread. If you see shaming, concern trolling, trolling, BP knowledge being upvoted, etc. please use the report button - it really does help.

The only thing that can be done is more active modding. Look at /r/askscience for example.

Mainstream access. Shit happens.

In reality, if you are truly redpill, you don't need this sub, or Dalrock, or Heartiste, or thespearhead, or angryharry, FredOnEverything, bodybuilding.com, or any other bullshit that's been around since 1995 or so when the internet got big.

If you are truly redpill, you know what the world is like, you know what you want, and you are willing to go out and get it, no matter the setbacks you face, romantically or professionally.

I've thought about this a bit. I'm not convinced you're entirely correct. the nature of social dynamics is such that a totally dominant male in a particular environment can easily revert to a bottom-of-the-barrel beta without fierce and purposeful adaptation when transplanted into another. consider the differences between a man at the top of the social ladder at an art school and one atop a frat-dominated campus; were an artistically gifted student to end up at SMU, his talents would likely go unappreciated at best (and probably actually serve to further ostracize him and lower his value), and were a frat star to end up for whatever reason at a more progressive institution he'd be seen as idiotic and barbaric.

there are some men who are born into the perfect environments for their particular genetic advantages and upbringings, and if they never challenge their surroundings, they'll probably be "naturally redpill" their entire lives. I know a couple of people like this. but if something changes unexpectedly, their entire reality can be pulled from underneath them and they'll hardly have a clue what hit them. I think it is not enough to be successful, because success in any form -- perhaps most of all socially -- is fleeting; you should understand why.

As this sub gains in notoriety it inevitably would draw the attention of its foes & as such many of them come here to troll us & try to "put us in our place" etc It can be a little disappointing at first but once you understand why this is happening it should be seen as a compliment that they would put such energy into tearing us down instead of building their pathetic selves up

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A huge problem is that a lot of guys think that red pill and seduction are the same.

[–]Modredpillschool[M] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The only thing lowering the quality here is concern trolling. The mods here have been kind enough to invest time categorizing each post so you can filter by post type. Only interested in theory posts? Click the theory button.

I mean I've seen a few comments recently with red pill knowledge being down voted. I will take note of it next time. I'm not saying it's extremely widespread but I have noticed this.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

redpillschool has people who downvote every post. who cares about internet points again?

[–]nonservator0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is inevitable when you allow people to vote on comments in forums they aren't even subscribed to.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Examples?

[–]gnimsh-2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Have you tried downvoting a post in this subreddit? That button just does not exist.

For a subreddit about truth there sure isn't much room for disagreement.

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan8 points9 points10 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yet you have -2 points... someone's managed to find the downvote button.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The purpose of that was to stop downvote brigades from annihilating good content, as the topics in here are pretty controversial.

[–]soapjackal0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Reddiquete states downvoting is for poorly written posts or troll like behavior, not for disagreement.

...aaaannnnnnnnddddddd back to 4chan.

[–]soapjackal0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Are you referencing another thread?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Is there a similar thread?

I was just remarking on 4chan's advantages as a discussion platform:

  • its anonymous
  • replies are stacked in the order they are submitted
  • to kill a thread it must grow old, or be killed by many, many people (with sage)

Every post must be judged on it's inherent worth, and burying a thread is relatively complex business. I also just like this quote.

[–]soapjackal0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It seemed like a non-sequitur.

I like 4chan, but its a bitch to organize. Also updates so frequently it's hard for me as a 4chan newb to find nuggets of gold.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

lurk moar.

In fairness the remark was a complete non-sequitur.
