That's some seriously dumb shit right there.

I've lost my ability to even.
Firstly I wanted to point out some obvious mistakes but after seeing an actor as replaceable... I just stopped reading and saw this very true comment of yours.

Actors replaced by CGI:
Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/film-news/11034343/When-will-CGI-actors-replace-human-ones.html
This is where TRP comes in: "Most of us have not been taught in school or on the job the cognitive and emotional skills we need. So we must acquire them. It won’t be easy, but we can learn to manage our emotions better and stop them from dominating our thinking. We can get better at embracing evidence that contradicts our views of the world. We can learn to engage emotionally with other people in a way that no machine can."

That movie is crazy af, I don't recommend it for everyone, but if you like the type of movie where you keep saying to yourself, "wtf am i watching?" it's for you.

CGI? Who needs an actor when you can digitally create the perfect one Lol.
im curious how secretary's will be replaced by technology.

Theatre? Even if you don't like it I hardly imagine that there's no theatre in the world you'll like. Which makes theatres and actors... "personal"?

Good point. Didn't think of that.

How would you replace an aircraft mechanic? 3d printing would need to get real cheap to throw away a plane every other week or so
[–]internet_terrorist 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Build the plane with highly modular components that a robot can swap in and out with spares. Then less humans are used to repair the modules.
[–]Fingersofsalad 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The parts that can be made modular pretty much already are (engine fucked? Remove and replace). Some back shop will repair what can be. The stuff that isn't easily removable is that way because it's installed (whole lotta rivets and slathered in sealant) in such a way to give it the required strength to keep the airplane together. Now if you know something I don't, clue me in
I don't doubt that the parts departments on the other hand will disappear real quick, I want those people to be replaced with robots

How about escorts?? will the young ladies still be able to get some $$$ on the side?

Yeah lots of mistakes, mostly cause I think he copied and pasted vs actually reading through and parsing out the requirements for each.
STEM jobs (except technicians) will survive
Only those outside of IT would possibly think you can replace technicians. Computers and other automated systems are built by humans, thus they are fallible and will always be limited by their design. A good 50% of an experienced technicians job is thinking outside the box and coming up with creative and innovative ways to "work around" a problem. No algorithm can do automatically do this.

There are some on the list that make no sense, unless true AI becomes a reality, a robot could never do the job. Ever.
A job like Air Traffic Controller is high up the list, yet there is technology that could very much make them redundant, very quickly.
