The biggest WTF about this research is the people who don't find it obvious or don't believe it. Do they live on the same planet as myself?

This is also why the meaning of the "number" is different between men and women, regardless of how much people want to treat it as the same.

A man with a high number of sexual partners needed to work for it. Unless you're just a naturally super-attractive male, you need to work on some aspect of yourself - physique, career/money, personality, intelligence - in order to "convince" a woman that you're worth the time and effort. Therefore your number is indicative of your sexual worth, which is directly proportional to how "good" a man you are.

A woman, on the other hand, doesn't need to perform so much, since all she has to do to get sexual partners is signal that she wants them. Her number, therefore, is indicative of how much sex she wants/needs, and how "easy" she is to get. A high number (i.e. sex with her is more easily attained) is inversely proportional to her sexual worth.

Now what I'd like to see is 100 gorgeous alpha males and 100 average women, and see how many guys deny them because they can go and get infinitely better women after the study is over.

Huh, I would have figured the confident approach of just asking a girl for sex would have gotten at least some positive responses from women. The guys must have been really nervous when they were asking and the women could tell, thus making them just creepy.

Just because you have the skill doesn't make it right. Truly alpha men have women tossing themselves at them. I know from personal experience. I've turned down hundreds of women. I believed in saving myself for a woman who also shares this belief (which I found).
