If I'm not mistaken, most guys that select the option to show men on Tinder are either gay or bisexual. What were you expecting? It's funny you mention "work on day game". If you're trying to make friends, just man up and talk to strangers or go find a hobby and meet other people that share the same interests. Just because you have that reaction does not mean a woman would. The reason is that you were being hit on by the sex to which you are not attracted.

It's simple to set up a better thought experiment even:

I've been approached by women I was unattracted to.
I've been approached by gay men.

I was more repulsed by the gay men than even a land whale woman. In fact, I've unfortunately screwed a couple land whales in my past (was gross), but no way with a dude.

I think this was a swing and a miss.

I have no doubt that if your SMV is low enough and you come at the girl in a certain way that it will gross her out. I've yet to figure out that threshold however.
