I know when we first discover the red pill it is exciting, we want to absorb as much as we can. We get a sense of euphoria and freedom. We go MGTOW or monk mode to help free us from our old ways. We read and read until we are blue in the face. We think "there is so much improving that needs to be done, I need to make up for all the time I have been wasting"
You start lifting, setting goals, try to start that new business you have always wanted, approach/date, eat better, buy an apartment you have always wanted, go back to school. The list goes. And all this stuff is fucking awesome. But take it from a recovering drug addict who discovered this stuff and has had it change my life in so many ways, has learned a lot and is still and always will be learning. The best way to make this stuff stick with you for the long term is to have some patience.
Being a recovering drug addict I want instant gratification. I spent 3 straight days reading as much as I could. And wanted to wake up alpha the next day. This way of life/mindset doesn't work that way and it's probably one of the most important concepts to grasp. You want to be patient with this transformation and lifestyle. With that being said.
You are probably taking on too much
I have relapsed so many times. My problem was every time I would try to get clean. I would get a sense of freedom. I would take on all these tasks. Lifting, school, staying sober, meeting women, reading more, travel, hobbies. All at once, it became too much to keep up with and eventually I would get frustrated, fail, give up and relapse.
If you are anything like me or new to this (I am not but this is what I have learned). It is extremely important to set goals for yourself not only when you start implementing these principles but as a man for the rest of your life. Every month I set goals for myself. I noticed my first month I had wrote down everything I wanted to change about myself. While this is great for a long term goal you should be realistic when it comes to short term goals. If you are expecting too much or take on too much it is easy to get frustrated, quit, and fall back into your old ways.
I suggest setting 3 major goals to work on for the month (some my take more, some less). And make it your main focus to achieve those goals until they become habits. And then move on to the next 3 goals (while still making sure to be on course with your previous goals.)
Same thing when it comes to reading this stuff, we can only absorb so much at once. You'll get more benefit from reading a couple post that have a perspective, lifestyle change, etc. that you want to develop. Focus on those main things and work at them consistently for a month (to start) than you would from reading 100 post all day.
Just a thought I had throughout today, thought I would share. Good day gentlemen.
TL;DR Don't take on too much at once, reduce amount of short term goals to better focus on them for better outcome. Have patience with yourself. And keep fucking going!
