my belief is that psychological abuse as well as emotional abuse are so much more harmful than physical abuse. I would never purposefully attempt to that that to any human.

Being abusive is definitely not alpha. If you have to threaten your woman to keep her around you are the opposite of alpha.

That said, most abusive relationships are two-way. He does fucked up things, she does fucked up things to retaliate, and it's a vicious circle. If you're ever in a relationship where you even think about doing anything abusive, you're probably with a shitty person and need to leave.

You gave us only 4 sentences but it's enough for me to say get the hell out of there.

Abusers are horrible people. Don't date people that willingly stay with abusers or have a pattern of dating abusers. The only reward you get will be drama. That will drag you down faster than anything.

I look at people who date abusers in the same way I look at drug abuse. Sometimes people make mistakes, the other times people make habits. If you abused drugs years ago but went clean and stayed clean ever since I might date you. Likewise, if you dated an abusive shithead in your distant past but learned from the mistake and avoided abusive shitheads from that point on, I might date you. If they didn't learn from the first bad experience chances are the behavior is an ingrained habit and the person is prone to poor decision making.

If she has kids with an abusive ex? Oh, hell no! I tried that exactly once and never again. Ever. He is permanently going to be a screwed up fixture in her life and those kids' lives. If he lived across the country or was sufficiently out of the picture (long-term prison sentence), I might possibly consider it if she is absolutely rare-unicorn level amazing, but there is no way I would ever deal with a jealous psycho ex ever again if he has the freedom to fuck with people's lives.

Oh, and if she cheated on another guy to be with you, you can almost guarantee that she will be willing to cheat on you to be with the next guy.

I actually have more thoughts on the women who stay with these guys. The guys? Yea, they're rotten - that sucks. The women? They have some serious issues going on in their heads if they're staying with someone who's abusing them.

P.S And the same goes for guys who stay with "psychos" only in this case, they're probably staying because they can't get it anywhere else.
