Just to be clear I am a Bi/Ace 19 year old man and this is a throwaway account.
So my main question is where exactly do men with low self-confidence lay in Female Dating Strategies?
I've been in two "relationships:" First one was in late high school when I was still discovering my own sexuality so it was more of a close friendship where I was too focused on discovering myself before I stopped talking to her after some drama with a friend group. I can't speak for her feelings toward me as all she said was she "Saw me as a brother." It is a stretch but I'd call it experience over a relationship.
Second one was a while ago in my second semester of college and it was long distance. I met her through the girlfriend of my bestfriend and we had a lot in common, basically a lot of nerdy horror stuff and shared gaming interests. I would spend time with her binge watching horror movies and playing games with our online friends. This account of our feelings for each other comes from my bestfriends girlfriend who quote "wingmaned for the both of us," I should also add my BFFs GF and her were best friends. We both liked each other and spending time together, we were both just too shy to express our true feelings. The closest I could get was telling her I enjoyed spending time with her. As I said before I am Bi/Ace and she was Pan/Polyamorous, she would occasionally "flirt" with our friends making me uncomfortable and the friends she would "flirt" with uncomfortable because they knew I liked her, I never spoke up about it because my no-confidence ass assumed she lost interest but I was reassured by my BFFs GF that she still liked me. Eventually it didn't work out as both of our mental health came into jeporday with me stressing over college finals and finacies in general and she had PTSD from a past relationship, or so I was told. I will admit the biggest issue I brought to the table in the relationship, other than insecurities, was my horrible time management, usually just underestimating the time it would take to complete an errand I was running.
Now the no self-confidence issue comes into play with trying to date on campus, with one girl I'm interested in I was unable to ask her out due to my own insecurities. I wanted to show interest in her hobbies and studies without looking like a creep. And that thought was always in the back of my mind even when it was just casual conversation. As far as I could tell she shared the same interests in my hobbies and studies and never tried to remove herself from a conversation.
I feel I've made strides in my self confidence from when I first started to understand my sexuality in high school to now but I just want the opinion of what that low self confidence level means in Female Dating Strategies.
