Hey guys. Another post from the Aussie newbie. Like I have stated before, still new and processing the pill, trying to implement what I can. Just want to ask how you guys handled your wife when you first started making changes, and she clearly knew this wasn't the "old you" I'm smart enough to know my wife either doesn't understand what I am doing or doesn't like it. (Both I'm sure).

Is it just a matter of holding your ground, here is today's example.

Wife and I last night discussed going to my parents for dinner tonight. She then texts this morning when I'm at work staying she has a headache because of the ear infection she currently has. I say that's no good, go see Dr. Later on tell her I'm going to dinner with our son like planned.

I get from her, why can't I go?..as advised I ignore, ask about Dr appointment, she asks again I respond with, you can come if you want to.

This beauty drops which I ignore until I'm home from work..I don't know what's wrong with us. Why would you plan to go out on Sunday night with our son and I can "come if I want to." I'm your wife it's not like I'm your friend you're inviting somewhere.

I explain that we are still going over for dinner, You have a headache, if you feel up for it, come along.

She asks why I wouldn't just stay home with her instead, I reply with, your headache doesn't stop my son and I going over.. Her face drops. And I have had the silent treatment and can see the mind ticking over.

I did tell her what time I'm leaving in case she wants to come along.

So do I just accept that I'm going to get this type of reaction for a while and keep moving ahead?

Cheers again, Please tell me to fuck off if I'm posting all spazzy and wrong.
