Guys, thanks to MRP I was more prepared when I told the wife yesterday that I was on my way to the ER after a mountain biking accident that resulted in a broken clavicle that will require surgery (won’t even be able to schedule this until Monday) When she immediately responded with “my whole world is falling apart” blah blah blah.

I expected she would make it all about her before even asking me if I was okay but I just gave comfort and avoid seeking empathy. The anger phase still lingers in my mind though.

This come on the heels of her helping her mother get set up with in home care last weekend. She has Parkinson’s. So I’ve already been in comfort mode with her and understand to a degree her burden.

So, now I won’t be benching again for several months.

Looking for advise from anyone who has had this injury both in terms of wife interactions now that I’m temporarily less self sufficient and also best practices for not losing too much muscle up top while I heal
