Dear asktrp,

My 16 year old brother has got no direction in life. He must be forced to study. He gets good grades cause my parents force him to study and he does it. Also he's got two private tutors and another study center he goes to to get entrance coaching for medical exam.

But he's got No clue if he really wants to do medicine or anything else... Hes like I'll make the decision when the time comes.

But in our country we've got no choice other than making a decision early because our whole syllabus changes after 10 grade depending on what we choose be it commerce or science or arts or whatever....

I really try talking to him about what he wants to do now he's in highschool but he just does what he wants and wastes his time like his other highschool friends and doesn't really listen to me when it comes to studies. The dude's been spoon-fed everything his entire life so making a decision must be new to him. It was the same case for me. Anyways I really want things to be different for him.

I want him to study something he's truly passionate and not just scrape through life with no aim. He doesn't really think about the future cause he's comfortable af with everything right now and he's in this bubble of a different reality and doesn't have a clue of the real world after he becomes self dependent. My parents also really upset and they struggling with their lives as well.

How do I go about him finding what he truly wants to do in life.

Ive also not introduced him to trp as he's not really ready yet but I've taught him alot of principles which has helped him in his social life and he's got good social proof. This problem however I can't really manage and I need help. Would appreciate your replies.
